SAP AG, the German IT major, will roll out an Indian version of Business One, the solution it developed for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), SAP's executive board member Shai Agassi said here Monday.

"In view of our phenomenal growth in the Indian SMB segment, we have decided to roll out an Indian version of Business One by this year-end for enabling our partners to offer micro vertical solutions, based on mySAP All-in-One platform," Agassi said.

Some of the key verticals SAP India addresses are automotive, consumer products, retail, oil and gas, utilities, telecom, pharma and the public sector.

As part of its strategic focus on the small and medium enterprises, SAP has developed Business One on its mySAP All-in-One platform for enabling growth, streamlining business operations and recording faster RoI (return on investment).

The pre-configured solutions of Business One can be implemented in five to eight weeks. It increases the RoI by 30 percent and reduces implementation time by 40 percent.

With a single window approach, SAP India will target the growing number of SMBs for consolidating its market share in the segment.

"We had 335 SMB customers across industry verticals and 10 partners by December 2004. With a projected growth of 2.5-3 times that of the market in the segment, we are doubling our vendor base in India," Agassi said.

With the Indian market contributing 25 percent of its Asia-Pacific revenues, the Indian subsidiary signed up 30 new SMB customers in the first quarter (January-March 2005), registering a year-on-year growth of 60 percent.

Till date, SAP India has about 700 customers in the sub-continent across verticals, spanning large enterprises, medium and small businesses, with about 1500 installations.
