The Rajasthan government has postponed recovery of land revenue in 213 more hailstorm-affected villages in three districts to provide relief to farmers, officials said.
With this, 1,200 hailstorm-affected villages in 19 districts have been declared as scarcity-hit and recovery of land revenue postponed.
The 213 villages are in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh and Sikar districts.
Earlier, the state government had postponed the recovery of land revenue in 988 hailstorm-affected villages in 16 districts.
The state government has already demanded financial assistance of Rs.2.1 billion and 40,050 tonnes of wheat to provide relief to the affected farmers. According to the state government, the storm had damaged crops worth Rs.4.30 billion in 2,231 villages in 21 districts.
