    Question Airtel Legal Department Threats

    When i requested shifting airtel people asked me to pay the dues remaining in my account.I paid the amount on due date.( 0422-4378903 )My connection was Rs.1299-00 Plan.
    They did not take action for 15 days. I cancelled the connection. After my cancellation request, someone from airtel office asked me to keep the connection after 15 days.they told me to take atleast Rs.499-00 plan. I accepted the offer because i gave the landline to some of my customers already..They shifted my phone to the new address.It was working for two days and disconnected. I sent email to customer care and nodal.southabts@airtel.in.Again someone called me from airtel and told me , please keep the connection your bill will be Rs.499-00 per month plus call charges. Again today someone from their legal department called me and threatening legal action if i did not pay my dues. They insisted on payment due before accepting shifting request and i paid dues on date.Now they are threatening me to pay Rs.1400+ for Rs.499-00 plan.I am using the connection for last 7 days only.
    Why they are using this strong arm tactics? i do not know.An individual cannot fight the big companies like them with their hoard of legal eagles..
    They should have some proper systems to manage customer requests and grievances.

    Default Legal Notice from Airtel - Totally Unexpected!!!

    Hi,
    I received a legal notice from Airtel today in the pretext of Non-Payment of due for the Broadband\landline mobile number - 044-45513810. I had requested for cancellation in August 2011. After several follow-up I got a reply. By then 2 months were due. The worst part is I even paid the 2 month dues which I was not required to pay. An airtel agent had come to my place collected the due, the modem and the phone.
    Why am I getting a Legal Notice now? I am absolutely upset by this. I already have an Airtel Broadband connection at my new home + 2 mobile connections, and I wanted to surreder the old one. I am now re-thinking whether to continue with Airtel or not.

    This is regarding the Airtel Broadband connection with the account number 15705740.
    This Broadband number was registered in my Name in an address in Bangalore.

    I was living in this location till 31-Mar-2011 and have payed all the outstanding bill amount till this time. My last bill payment date was 11-April-2011 of Rs.549 for the bill period of 5-Mar to 4-April with the bill number: 994113591 dated 6-Apr-2011 .

    I had requested for disconnection of the service through 121 in the month of March-2011 as I was not staying in that location after March. 121 had confirmed me the disconnection of the service is done on their end and connection was no more active, I was also told that collection of modem and other hardware will be done from them which never happened. While shifting to a different location I had to carry these hardware with me which makes the connection DEAD. After this I never heard anything from Airtel about collecting back the hardware even after my repeated requests.

    Today from no where I received a call from an unknown person addressing himself as an Advocate from Delhi asking me to pay the bill of ~1600 and threatening me of facing the legal consequences. He has also given me the Legal Account Number.
    It is me who has to file a case against Airtel for not disconnecting the service on time and generating this illegal bill.
    Why should I make the payment for the service which is not existing and from where the Airtel has generated this bill of Rs.1600???

    I have filed a complaint to the Airtel Broadband customer care today and here are the complaint details:
    Complaint Number: 9354260
    CAF Number: TBLR0077691
    Complaint date: 26-Dec-2011

    Please take serious action to close this case or else I will have to file a case against this illegal billing and mental harassment in the name of legal action.

    I saw similar such complaints against Airtel from this portal.

    Has Airtel got any Ethics and value for the customers!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi,
    I have an Aircel 3G usb modem and Aircel offered up to 7.2 mbps speed. I have full coverage and I got maximum speed of 1 mbps but I was okay with that. I have activated this service on 12th Dec 2011 and after 5 days, on 17th Dec 2011, the speed decreased to 15 kbps. I have called many times to Cust care and also contacted the dealer, but the issue not resolved. After 2 days, on 19th Dec 2011, the speed increased again and I got a maximum speed of 400 kbps. Then on 21st, the speed again decreased to 15 kbps and I am unable to use this. But I have to pay 1275+tax and there is no response from concerned department. I have called Cust care on 21st and registered a complaint. I got reply from cust care on 23rd and they told issue resolved. Actually issue was not resolved and they transferred the case to another team but didn't informed me. I called again on 26th forenoon, and they told the case is transferred and that is why they didn't informed. I told I need to fix it today itself and I talked about 20 minutes from Airtel number and charged 50p/m. I waited till 8PM and no response. So I called again and they are telling that, they transferred the case to another dept and they will call you. But no response from any tech or field person. I was unable to use this device more than 8 days. What to do next? I need to pay for these days which I haven't used. I am supposed to deactivate and I need a full refund. Please advice me.

    Hi,

    With reference to this thread i am posting my issue related to the same discussed here already.

    I had an Airtel Broadband connection for 6 years. I have been paying bills prompt and there was no delay in my payments to airtel in history. On this note, due to certain reasons i had to cancel the connection. I had given for cancellation on 28th July 2011 and the cancellation has been done on 18th August 2011 after multiple follow-ups. i got 2 cancellation numbers posted by Airtel (dont understand how this is possible, mentioning both at the bottom of the thread) Still i did not have anyone contact me for getting the modem or the phone instrument back. I received a call from Airtel on 10th of August saying the request has been resolved and Broadband line is disconnected. No information from Airtel later. On December 22nd 2011 i received a legal notice saying i have an unbilled amount to be settled for Airtel. I dont understand why there was no follow-ups on the unbilled amount to be paid by me. Moreover my billing cycle is from 26th till 25th. Once my billing cycle is complete i raised a cancellation request which obviously means i wont have any outstanding and that is the information i got when i raised the cancellation request. I paid my last bill on 5th August 2011 for the previous month. My assumption was there was no outstanding morover i got a call from Airtel on 10th Augist saying the line is disconnected. Then why this legal notice suddenly? I contacted a mobile number mentioned in the legal notice to discuss about this. He wanted me to SMS the cancellation number and the Airtel fixed line number. I did the same and no response later. When Airtel do not repond when required how do we know where we are on the issue?

    In the meanwhile i got a call from a business person whom the same number was allocated after my cancellation who said there has been an issue in number allocation. I did not give importance to it as i have already cancelled my number.

    Details to traceback:
    Cancellation request number - 1431496 and 608422 (dont understand why 2 numbers for one cancellation)

    Please consider this on high priority and contact me to resolve this issue instead of simply printing notices. I am mailing the same concern to airtelpresence@airtel.in. I request Airtel to respond to my email accordingly.

    Default Legal proceedings warning from airtel

    Hi

    I got a mail from airtel saying legal proceedings will be taken against me for not paying bills. This bill got generated for a period for which i did not use the connection. I tried to disconnect my connection twice and unfortunately my first request was not taken care and thus bill got generated for four months unnecessarily. I do not want to pay unnecessarily. Please advise.

    The mail from airtel is below.


    Dear Sir / Madam,

    Sub: Outstanding Dues on your Airtel Telemedia.

    Ref: Del No : 04442114764_tn Account No: 16348210

    We have not received a response to our Previous Tele-calls/Field visit & Letters
    Regarding non –payment of bills towards the above said account for a net outstanding of Rs.4922/-

    We must now tell you that we expect payment to be made immediately. If payment has not been received immediately we will pass the matter to our solicitors with instructions to commence legal proceedings. This will be done without further warning to you.

    Please make the payment in favour of M/s.Bharti Airtel Limited - Telemedia Services A/c:16348210 by cheque/DD payable at by cash/credit card. If you have already made the outstanding payments prior to receiving this letter you are requested to furnish us the proof of payment to avoid further action.

    Unhappy Legal Notice from Airtel for no fault of mine

    Hi,

    I have been using Airtel for last almost 10 years +91 98 180 48678 A/C no. 102-101102646, paying all my bills on time and never coplaining of anything. Today I have received a legal notice from some lawyer from Airtel. I m going to take this matter even with this lawyer and also to the top management at Airtel.Series of incidents: My advance rental plan fo 2 years expired and I did receive a call from Airtel asking if I would like to renwer the plan, I very CLEARLT tld them I plan to transfer this number to pre paid and requested them not to renew the plan. To my surprise my plan was renewed even after my pre infrming them that I do not want the renewal. I complained with the customer service and wa told the plan will be discoutinued. I didn't want to loose the number, I had the number with me for a long time and all my business contacts had my this number. So I waited for the plan to be corrcted so I could make the payment for whaever I have used and get the number converted into pre paid. No action was taken from Airtel's side. Though I used to get regular remnder to pay the bill and everytime I had to re tell my story to the executive and be told that the problem will be looked into. The last call I received from Airtel was some 3-4 weeks back and again I told them the full story. NO ACTION. After all my efforts failed I jus took off the SIM and stopped using it. And had to go through the tiresome process of updating my number at all the places I could remember. I am sure I would have missed a few. And only time will tell how imortant those are.I once again, through your portal, request Airtel to provide me with a altered bill of all the calls that have made during this period and I'll immidiately pay all my dues. I do not intent to take back anybody's dues. ANT AT THE SAME TIME I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SOMETHIGN I NEVER REQUESTED.And if Airtel does not provide me with a correct bill and insists on me paying the full amount. I AM WILLING TO FIGHT THIS TILL ANY LEVEL AND IN ANY COURT.

    I am with you for fighting against consumer cheating by Airtel, even I am facing same issue with landline connection. I think Airtel is trying to earn profit by cheating people instead competing in current market.

    I am very much unhappy with airtel service, this is not the way you should behave with customers. Currently I am using airtel prepaid mobile connection and I am going to disconnect it right from tomorrow.. it's fine even if I pay more for the service from other service providers.

    -> I paid my last bill on 2nd Aug 2011(bill till July 20th)
    -> After this my connection went down in july last week, I raised ticket for this. Didn't receive any reply.
    -> In August 1st week I raised transfer request, for which customer service said that will take 20 working days.
    -> I was waiting till september they alloted me new number 08041103990 but didn't activate it.
    -> In september when tried to follow up strongly these guys there is no port available to provide connection
    - If this is the case why didn't they tell me before itself, I unnecessarily waited for 2 months without using net connection.
    - My work got affected because of this issue.
    -> I raised cancellation request in September.
    - While taking connection you guys come to house and do all the setup, while disconnecting no one cares.
    -> Now recently I am getting calls and mails to pay bill amount of 3000+ simply without using any airtel service.
    -> I think you can check tickets raised and conversation details in your records for my account. Hope you guys maintain this data!..

    I was owning Airtel boradband connection 08042150518 for almost 2 years and had no problems at all.
    Now even i got a legal notice today to pay the bill for the connection that i had almost disconnected in the month of Aug 2011.
    When i called Airtel they told me that i had only called on Oct 10 and that i did not place a request for cancellation.
    I completly disagree with this. I checked the itemised bill that i received from Airtel for my mobile number starting Aug 2011 to oct 2011 and found that i had lastly called Airtel on 24th of AUG 2011. Am wondering how the customer care person is giving a fault information that i had only placed the request for cancellation on 10th of October 2011. I do not see an outgoing call made from my mobile phone on 10th of october. the outstanding amount is just 2000 which i can afford to pay, but the mental torture that they are giving is not good. i have also decided to disconnect my airtel mobile number which i am owning since 6 years once this is sorted out.

    Default Airtel's harassment: unnecessarliy legal notice

    Today I received a lok adalat notice from Airtel for landline no: 08041554898_kk.

    My case was, I took a Airtel broadband connection that got activated on 15-july-2011 and then suddenly they de-activated it between 6th-9th August 2011. I noticed on 9th august 2011 and registered complaints: "SR nos: 3235594, 2748630, 2126576, 64398344", even talked to Regional sales manager "Prasanth" from Airtel shop on 100 feet with the help of "Lakshmi" there. Got some technical engineers' no from them.

    One of the guy was Basavraj: 9845136286. I got to know they de-activated my account due some C-Lock misunderstanding. I need to submit my papers again and then it will be reactivated. I submitted my papers again and kept calling and emailing to nodal officers/appelate authority.

    But even till 30 October 2011, it was not re-activated. Finally I called to cancel it and then they sent me bills for months when broadband was not working.

    And then a threatening call came from Airtel legal dept to whom I tried to explain that I need to pay only for 24 days(~300 Rs) when it worked and not for 3 months(1869 Rs), also need to consider 500 Rs I paid as advance(bought modem for 810 Rs, but thats my mistake and not including that), she didn't listen and threatened and hung-up.

    Today they sent me notice.

    I am going to fight for this and never ever any of my friend, family and relatives will use any airtel product.

    Angry Harrasment and mental agony caused by AIRTEL

    This is is in regard to account number 15526398 , for which cancellation request was given on 12th November 2011. Complaint no 7137426. Until then all the bills were paid on time.

    After which followed by mental trauma and agony to call every week trying to disconnect the account. I reside outside India and trying to reach a customer care person is nothing less than torture.
    They have now charged me a bill for the month of December-jan for which i am not liable to pay!!!
    Yesterday i received a mail saying they will start legal proceeding for an amount of Rs 1122/- , and asked to contact some Sunil who never picks up the phone or keeps it switched off!!!
    How am i supposed to come to lokadalat? will Airtel reimburse all the international calls i have made to their customer care numbers or pay for my airline tickets so i can come to India to solve the issue with them?
    Each time a customer care person says it will be resolved. Why should i pay for something they are liable for?
    Airtel needs to reevaluate the way they function!
    I need some action on this matter for wrongly billing me!!!
