Sub-standard work quality, non-compliant timelines & non-responsive client management of Meine Kuche;
the Hafele Kitchen Partner @ India.
In Aug 09; we visited Meine Kuche, Ishanya Mall, Pune & met Udrula Jagtap & Deepak Bharadia(Managing
Partner) & they shared their promoter details – Hafele & Tarachand Ramnath
We deposited Rs 5000/- for designs. Udrula visited our flat at Pune to understand our kitchen & Mumbai site
to take measurements & pics.
In Sept 09; we finalized a quote of Rs 4 lacs. Udrula left Meine Kuche. We paid advance amount
Rs 280000/-
Mr Mehendle (Meine Kuche) visited site on 20-10-09 & took new measurements-pics.
We moved into the flat; without a kitchen awaiting kitchen delivery within 60 days as per proposal.
Mr Mehendle left Meine Kuche.
On 31-12-09 Mr Dyaneshwar & a design executive – took pics & site measurements again. I was assured
that this was a process followed before installation; which would happen in 10 days.
In Jan 10 - Mr Dyaneshwar left the company.
The kitchen arrived for installation on Feb 4. I had yet not received final kitchen design.
The profiles used were not SS finish, as agreed in the proposal. I was assured that these were temporary
& would be changed soon. We agreed that payments would be released only after the kitchen was
completed as per proposal design & specifications.
Upto Feb 12; since there was no supervisor I took pics of bad workmanship & sent them to Mr Bharadia for
action. Mr Bharadia shared the new designs according to which work had been done without my knowledge
& approval.
Mr Nilesh from Meine Kuche arrived on Feb 12 for supervison. He acknowledged mistakes in design &
installation. For the first time, Meine Kuche shared with us that the walls & ceiling of the kitchen were not
straight & hence the fittings were not perfectly in place. Mr Nilesh also shared that some of the issues being
faced could have been taken care of at the design stage.
Mr Bharadia visited site on Mar 3.
The issues which Meine Kuche states due to site reasons; which were never shared during or after the 3
site-visits by experts from Meine Kuche – all these experts have left the organization before installation of
the kitchen -- include nearly 1-2” gap between ceiling & loft cabinets; nearly 3-4” gap between loft cabinets
& side wall etc
Documents & pics have been shared with Hafele, Germany & India – with no strong action.
Hafele says since its not an hardware issue, they cannot be liable – but they must be held liable for lending
their well-known brand name to organizations who do not work as per their brand name. Clients approach
such small organizations only on assurance that Hafele must be supervising their activities.
Current Status

• Kitchen is still incomplete & microwave cabinet which was dismantled & parts taken away in March 2010;
is still unfinished
• Kitchen is not being used 100% after paying approx Rs 3, 00, 000/- from Sept 09
• Hotel Food from December 09 to June 10
• 75-year old mother has medical issues due to hotel food
• Mental stress & trauma to mother & daughter staying in a house with “half-a- kitchen” & dealing with an “unresponsible organization”
