Police have seized spurious drugs and medicine samples worth Rs.10 million ($228,000) here and arrested three people in this regard.

R.K. Dubey, deputy superintendent of police, said Friday over 300 cartons of medicines including spurious and physicians' samples of reputed medical companies were recovered from a medicine dealer's premises.

The police raided dealer Harsh Gupta's residence and shops on a tip-off. They recovered a huge hoard of physicians' samples, medicines meant for government hospitals and expired drugs.

Dubey said a large number of medicine dealers and pharmacy outlets were operating without a licence.
