Condoling the death of National Security Advisor J.N. Dixit Monday, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) described him as an outstanding foreign policy expert who shaped India's ties with key countries.

CII president Sunil Kant Munjal said Dixit was one of the country's better-known authorities on foreign affairs and a key strategic thinker, while recollecting how CII shared a special relationship with him.

In December, Dixit addressed the chamber's India Economic Summit and strongly advocated India as a safe investment destination, Munjal said, adding the former bureaucrat was a great proponent of economic diplomacy with other countries.
