    Red face Pricing above MRP

    Hi,

In most tourist places shops sell more than MRP citing tourism as the reason. Even government maintained shops are charging more Ex: Koyambedu bus stand in chennai. Mostly cool drinks are charged more because of electric charge used for cooling. This is what shop owners tell, it shouldnt ne forced to consumers instead it has to be beared by product mfg companies. They make huge profit & give small pie to this distibutors. Recently I had a visit to Chidambaram. While returning to chennai the government bus is stopped at Marakkanam, there is a shop which sell almost all products double that of original price. I had a argument with that guy. Most travellers dont mind shelling out huge money while travelling. They dont care about MRP. So, I just need to what is the best way to complaint or any action is taken against this form of corruption. Its like cheating customers who are said to be king by the marketing firms.

    Thanks,
    Rajesh

I very often make purchases from Bigbazaar. In one of my very recent purchase (of
about Rs. 1600/-) I noticed the price of a particular item charged in the bill is
more than the Selling Price Printed on the item. On contacting the Big Bazaar on the
matter I had to take a lot of pain. At last they did agree(Orally) that there was a
mistake on their part and the over charged amount would be returned to me. Though
more than a week's time has elapsed since their assurance I am yet to get my over
    charged money back.
As Big Bazaar is of the Pantalon group I had sent an email to them too. But, alas,
    there is no development.
Would you kindly advise me the action I should go in for now ?
    Regards.

    Thumbs down Excess Billing

Big bazaar they have programmed their billing in such a way that if it more than 50 paise it will automatically round off to higer rupee. i.e. if your bill is 100.51 they will charge Rs.151/-. If in a day 1000 customer is charged such a way they will gain 500 Rs./-. So if we calculate this for 365 day it will be Rs. 1, 82, 500/-. And if it is calculated for 100 Branches than it will amount to Rs. 1, 82, 50, 000/-. Such a huge other Income and excess money charged from us.

    Angry High Prices in Wine

Even I have similar experiences in Mysore. I have been purchasing liquor from various shops in Mysore around my area, where all of them charge any where between Rs 10-300 more depending upon the type of liquor I bought. Recently I purchaged a bottle of wine on which there was a special price sticker which was more than Rs 300 on the MRP, on asking the shop keeper says that it is the Govt price and do whatever we want. The shop is located in Kalidasa Road, VV Mohalla, Mysore, Karnataka and the name is High Spiritzzz....

Can we do anything about this, I do not want to be a cause of black money in India.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hello Sir/Mam,
I stay in kalyan and i too have a similar complaint.
firstly.. i go to buy an AC.. which costed me Rs 28,000..
the next day the AC gets delivered to my house with its MRP wiped off.
when i ask the shop owner, he says thats done to avoid the octroi.
the next day my dad calls up LG care.. and asks the cost of the AC model which we bought..
and to out surprise the MRP was 26,500.. then we enquire in other local shops, the same AC is sold at Rs. 24,500.. which is Rs. 4500 more than what it costed us.. and to make things worse.. the AC has a problem in its PCB 2 days after its installation.. when we ask the shop owner about the pricing, he says i'll look into it and keeps it pending.. its been more than a week now... what can we do to get our money back and also get the AC repaired as its just been 2days after installation.. need help!

    Default Selling alcohol above MRP

Lakshmi Sree Wines at No.22/2, Hutchins Road (Bangalore) sells alcohol at 10% above MRP. For example - He sold a bottle of Sula wine to me recently for Rs.700, the MRP of which was Rs.637. He seemed unperturbed on being told that it is illegal to sell above MRP and his licence may be withdrawn.

How do we deal with such a situation? How can I get the govt. to act against him? This is just not about me..Its about so many other people who are facing the brunt of this. Something needs to be done to resolve this at the earliest.

This issue needs to be resolved and necssary action must be taken against the retailer.
