Angry Over Pricing of Nandini Milk Products at local shop

In bangalore all the shopkeepers selling Nandini Milk product overpriced by rs 1 or 50 ps which cost around 30 rs more evrymonth. We are not supposed to purchase anything more than MRP but if we say so to shopkeeper they start arguing and says dont purchase. Please look into this matter.

Default Overcharging at Nandini Milk Outlet - Whitefield

I buy curds (which costs Rs. 10 for 500ml pack) almost daily from Nandini Milk outlet, and they always charge 1 rupee extra per packet. On arguing, they said if you want to complain, please go ahead, we are not bothered.

Am really bothered about this and want this to be stopped. The place where I stay (whitefield) is full of IT people who earn a lot, but charging extra like looting people, its not at all ethical.

The shop name and address is as below:

    Smt. Prameela Sharanaiah
    Nandini Milk Parlour,
White Field Main Road, Opp. SBM,
    Bangalore.

Kindly help me. Other shops in Bangalore (at Shivaji Nagar bus stand and Majestic bus stand) charge normal rates as printed on the packets.

    Angry Overpricing of milk

    Hi,

    I am a resident of:

    Purva Park,
    53 MSO Colony,
    Jeevanhalli,
    Cox Town,
    Bangalore - 560005

There is a grocery store within the complex that sells all kind of grocery products including milk. Nandini milk 1/2 litre packet is priced at a MRP of Rs 8 but he charges a minimum of Rs 8.50 i.e. 50 paise above MRP. He also refuses to give 50 paise change and the customers should be carrying the 50 paise change if they want milk at Rs 8.50.

Most of the times, the consumers do not have change and in that situation, he never refunds the balance 50 paise and charges the customers Rs 9 per packet. When I raised my voice against the same, he said that he cannot sell it for less than Rs 8.50...If I do not want to take it, its my wish.

I have been living here for a couple of years now and have observed that all the residents have been buying at the asking price without raising their voice. Reason being, that is the only grocery store in the complex and people don't seem to have a choice.

As far as I know, under the Weights & Measures Act, a person is not permitted to sell any packaged product above MRP. Hence, I feel it is my duty to inform your good self about this violation of laws and offence to consumers which is being practised openly in Bangalore. Shopkeepers have taken customers for granted and behave as if its their birthright to violate the law. I feel strict action should be taken against such shopkeepers to create a respect for law in people's eyes and to ensure justice to the consumers.

I sincerely request you to take action against this store to ensure justice to all.

Hoping that my requests would not go in vain.

    Regards,

I stay at Gottigere, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore - 560083. There is only one Nandini Milk outlet on the main road, near Hotel Deepika. he too charges Re.1- extra per litre of milk. On questioning, he clarifies that needs to maintain the refrigeration running cost. Even I tried buying the milk at the spot where the unloading happens from the Nandini van but still the same cost. While other outlets within city sells the packets at MRP.

This is the only one shop in Gottigere & I think no consumer raises his voice as he does not have alternatives. But for sure KMF union should take legal action.

    Default Expiry date printed locally

As I have observed, expiry date on most of the milk products is printed by local shop keepers. If u purchase a milk pack today i.e., 22nd the expiry date will be printed like "Use before 25th October".

When we purchase packed products, already they will be one day old..if they sell the same with 4 days expiry then its really not good.

Requesting Nadini people to print the date of packing,,let the people decide whether they want fresh milk or old one.

Question Over pricing of Nandini Milk

I am purchasing nandini milk from so many decades. But earlier where I was staying, they were charging Rs.1 for delivery of milk at the door. Now I am staying in Kuvempunagar, Jalahalli East, where there are three milk agencies Kamadenu Milk agency at Kuvempunagar, Bangalore Milk Dairy at Gangamma Circle and Harish Milk agency at Kammagondanahalli. All are charging Rs.1 more than the MRP. Please advise them or cancel the agency

Default Nandini Parlour at Whitefield Charging Re 1 more for Full-cream Milk

The Nandini Milk Parlour at Whitefield (near bus stand, opp SBI) is charging Rs 14, i.e Re 1 higher than MRP, for the full-cream milk packet. I buy these packets from Domlur and Koramangala parlours sometimes, they don't charge any higher price. Please take steps to stop the wrong practice at some of your parlours.
