I am having Savings account No.1706044 and 1706043 with New Model Town, Ludhiana Post Office. I visited the Post Office on 12.06.2010 for closure of above savings accounts, accomapnied with request letter, duly completed SB-3 for and relative Pass Books as directed by the dealing clerk Madam Anita. She directed me to the Post Master Sh. Surjit Singh, who refused to accept the documents stating that request for operation of accounts be made and not for closure of accounts. I again told him that I do not intend to operate these accounts and my request for closure of accounts be accepted. But he flately refused to accept my documents. Suitable action be taking against the erring official for harassing the public and refusing for accept my lawful request.
