Dear fellow users of postal and courier services,
Last year I sent a bag through DHL express from Salt Lake City Utah to my home in Australia. In the bag was thousands of dollars worth of brand new snowboarding gear, as well as other irreplaceable things like photos and rare books. Turns out the package never arrived and, with the help of DHL's tracking system, we know that it never left the DHL facility in Salt Lake City. So, it's more likely than not that a DHL employee stole it. I had insurance, but DHL refused to pay because they say that I did not make a complaint within the required 30 days. That can be a little difficult given that I was travelling around the world and was not going to return home for another 6 months. I tried appealing their decision internally, but they refused to budge. Get this, they wouldn't even reimburse me the $500 in postage despite having never actually sent it anywhere (unless you count the thief taking it home). Now that, my friends, is blatant theft.
Be warned. Don't use DHL.
