Hi,
My name is Swapna Rajanna. This is with regard to my EMI of personal loan - CITIBANK.
There was a ECS standing instructions to clear my EMI through my ICICI SB A/C. As per the standing instructions CITIBANK had to submit for the ECS clearance on 1st of every month. This was happening properly for almost 2 years. In January 2009, as usual the submission for clearance was made on 1st of Jan and the same was cleared also. But CITIBANK submitted for ECS clearance again on 21st January which was wrong. I started calling the customer service of CITIBANK and told them that they have submitted for ECS early and told them to get it adjusted for February's EMI.
CITIBANK has submitted for EMI clearance again for February which has not been honoured as I had not funded because of the following reason.
1. February's EMI was already deducted on 21st January.
The collection agents started harassing me until 10th of February and finally they understood that they have already received the EMI in Jan.
So, in March I did not want to have this problem repeating so I funded with the required amount to my account on 1st when the clearance usually was made. ICICI bank they have deducted ECS non-clearance charges of Rs281/- from my account as CITIBANK had submitted the ECS clearance incorrectly on 1st Feb. I was not aware of this deduction and when CITIBANK submitted for ECS clearance on March the amount was insufficient due to the deduction done by ICICI bank. So repeatedly 4 times they have submitted for clearance and consecutively Rs 1250 /- has been deducted from my account. This is of no mistake of mine and I need to bear this expenditure. So, can any one guide what should be the next course of action that I need to take. Should I bear this Rs 1250/- expenses or continue to pay the EMI as nothing has happened.
Regards,
Swapna Rajanna
