138. Dishonour of cheque for insufficiency, etc., of funds in the accounts.

Where any cheque drawn by a person on an account maintained by him with a banker for payment of any amount of money to another person from out of that account for the discharge, in whole or in part, of any debt or other liability, is returned by the bank unpaid, either because of the amount of money standing to the credit of that account is insufficient to honour the cheque or that it exceeds the amount arranged to be paid from that account by an agreement made with that bank, such person shall be deemed to have committed an offence and shall without prejudice to any other provisions of this Act, be punished with imprisonment or with fine which may extend to twice the amount of the cheque, or with both.

I have applied for personal loan from hdfc bank on 5th aug 2011. i have submitted all my documents which are required. currently my salary is 28200/month take home and i am no using any credit card nor i have any previous loan. first time i was trying for this.
the point is my loan application has been rejected due to my salary account is with Axis Bank, that is the reason told by the sales guys. after that again i have tried for loan from different bank and this time i received so many call from so many banks including hdfc bank. one of the guy has told me that your application is rejected and your no is 19370636 your rating is in negative but what???
please tell me the exact reason for rejection of my loan application and please also suggest me that when i can again apply for the same. my login date is 10th august 2011.

Hello,

I year back I have taken a PL from HDFC Bank and I have completed 12th month EMI and as per the rule I am ready to give 4% repayments charge of the balance principal amount.
My Loan Account is in Kolkata and I am not able to visit physically to the branch.
Kindly advice me how do I pre-pay the amount online.
