    Default Barclays Finance - Harrassments/Double EMI

    Dear Sir,

    I have taken personal loan from Barclays Finance from Link Road, Malad Branch. Loan A/c.No.LC017011006019003. Loan Amt.1,00,000/-. EMI Rs.4333/-.

    I was regularly paying the EMI. Normally they send the alert messages before 2/3 days before EMI Date. But this month they have not sent any alert message (for EMI on 03.03.10). However the EMI got bounces due to insufficient fund. I agree that it is my fault for not keeping the sufficient balance. But there is also a negligent on the part of barclays for not sending the alert messages.

    Barclays people used to call me every day even on sundays for this EMI as i have specifically told them the i was out of town for one week. I have paid the EMI in cash on 11.03.10 through the collection boy they have sent for pick up. The matter is over.

    But they have also intentionally represented the ECS on 17.03.10 and EMI got cleared again. i.e.Double Payment. When i spoke to the Ms.Mahek Khanna at Link Road, Malad Branch, she said the she cannot stop the representation of ECS. My concern is that when they are going to represent the ECS, the why they have collected the EMI in cash. They are saying this is the normal banking process. The normal process is that if on the representaion of ECS, if gets bounced again, then they can collect is cash.

    Since they have debited twice, i have to continously follow up with the for the excess EMI.

    They are also saying the wherever u want to complaint, they don't bother. This is not the way of banking.

    as per barclays finance procedure every 3rd, 10th or 12th and 27th they are presenting emi/cheque. i am also in the same condition. from the past two emi i am not paid a single amount. and i close my current account and open the fresh account on the same branch on same day. I think this is the temperory solution. you also try this. don't bother about further harassment. as per rbi acts if any harassment regarding unpayment you can lodge a compliant aginst these cheating finance.
