    Default Harassment for me & my family by ICICI Bank Personal Loan dept.

    I had taken a Personal loan (LAN -LPCAL00008790484) from ICICI Bank, Kolkata in 2005 & paid the entire due amt as per the terms & conditions mentioned in the settlement letter (dated 14th Jan'09) issued by the Bank. The payments details are mentioned below for your ref -

    It was mentioned in the letter that, all legal cases filed by bank in the court of law in respect of the above-mentioned loan a/c would be withdrawn after the entire amount was realized by the Bank, but even after making the payment of the entire amt well before the dateline, the bank hasn't withdrawn the legal case yet.

    On the first hearing date in the court, I was told that the loan was still being shown active in the Bank's system and the same would soon be shown as closed and accordingly Bank will withdraw the case. This was really surprising for me to find out that the loan a/c was still being reflected as active even after making the entire payment.

    It seemed there was a huge communication gap between the ground level collection operations & the back-end system updation process and as a result, even after making the entire payment, the same was not being updated in the system accordingly and finally, it’s the Customer, who had to face all the trouble!

    When I contacted Customer Care of ICICI Bank, I got an email from them on 27th May'09 confirming that, my Personal Loan account LPCAL00008790484 had been closed in Bank's records. Even the statement of account was also sent to me as an attachment. But unfortunately, the legal case is still not withdrawn by the Bank & I was asked to appear in the court again today.

    It's an absolute violation of the commitment made by the bank both in spirit & in the Settlement letter and creating a lot of physical & mental harassment for me & my family.

    It is very difficult to continue like this and I would like to initiate appropriate legal action against the Bank if is not sorted out ASAP.
