Dear Sir,
I had applied for passport on 24/08/2011 under normal scheme at RPO, Chennai. After two months When I didn't see any progress in the passport application, I applied for RTI on 08/11/2011 to get the status. Now, it is almost two months after RTI was applied and 4 months since I applied for passport. I have neither got any reply for my RTI nor I have got the passport. When I had enquired at RPO 2 weeks back, it was told to me that all the police reports are recieved by them and the passport will be despatched within 10days. But, even after 15 days I haven't recieved the passport.

I have to attend an international conference in mid February which is a first time Indian representation in the world class conference in US. Now, since I have not yet recieved the passport, I am running into risk of not getting funding for the conference in addition to other problems like getting Visa. It will be unfortunate for our Institute (IIT Madras) for not having representation at the first-time accepted conference.

At this point I am too much occupied to track the passport and the RTI. So, I request you to please help me in this regard. I am planning to contact RTI first Appellate Authority soon inspite of my tight schedules.
