Hi,
I am a law abiding citizen of India, a lady doctor by profession. I had applied for
an additional booklet in April, 2007 for change of name to married name. Till date,
I have not recieved the additional booklet, nor has the concerned police station
recieved any data for verification. On follow ups from Passport Office, Delhi these
are the replies given by the gentlemen at the various counters for public service:
1) Ask the concerned police station to conduct the enquiry????
2) File a fresh application.
3) If you file a fresh application, you will pay a penalty of Rs 2,500/-
4) we will send a fresh enquiry within 3 days.
5) You can't renew your near expiry passport because we shall furnish you with an
additional booklet.
6) There is no other way out !!!
7) Check Online Status.( Says Police Enquiry Pending since April,2007)

I have been harassed over the past 2 years by Passport office, Delhi for no reason
that you can state officially. I can estimate the level of corruption in the office
from this and the expectations you guys have.
I am left with no choice but to move to the consumer court now.
I am not sure whether you will be interested to move my file. But to complete the
curriculum, this is my formal complaint.
