HI,

I applied for passport on 21st of jan 2008, file number Z150378 from vellore, it comes under chennai passport office.
In July 2008 i came to know that there was some objection raised on my permanent address, which is in Patna, and i was asked to submit address proof again signed by gazetted officer.By this time i left vellore as i completed my degree and am currently in Chennai. After visiting passport office 4 times i was finally able to submit the documents which they were asking for. After that i went to passport office multiple time to know the status, and they kept on telling that my file had been sent to Patna for verification and there is no response from Patna police. Now i dont know what i was supposed to do here, as patna police could have atleast responded by saying that this person is not eligible to get passport.This is not my job to get patna police respond, i have paid fee to get passport and passport office should be chasing them for their response.

Finally i lost all hope and didnt bother to for inquiry, one fine day i got a call from my junior in college at vellore saying that your passport has come to vellore post-office if you collect it from here it will go back to chennai passport office and you can collect it from there.

So i went to collect my passport to chennai passport office in march 2010, and then they said we wont give it hand to hand , we will only send it by post, so i told them to send it to my current address in chennai as am working in chennai now... then they raised eyebrow ohh now you are in chennai, you need to submit address proof and you need to go for police verification again...

i submitted the docs required and undergone police verification again in May 2010, and believe am yet to get my passport..... and it is known that my passport is ready and kept in some file...

am going to visit passport office again tomorrow (17th jan 2011), and it would be my last visit.. if am not getting my passport am going to file a case in consumer court against passport office....
