I lost my pan card and have applied for reprinting of the same. I submitted the duly filled up form and the documents to the Pan Processing center about 6 weeks back. The acknowledgment number is 881020205235030. I received an email on the 8th october (8-10-2011) that there was a mismatch in the address proof and the Photograph provided is not proper for scanning. I then sent another post with a new photograph of the required dimension (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm). Now i have received another email stating that the 'Photograph provided is not proper for scanning.'. I can confirm that this is a valid and clear photograph that i have used for various legal purposes like bank account opening, property registration etc. So their claim that the photograph is not proper is incorrect.
I called the TIN call center to get more information about this. Their call center agent said 'my eyes were too black' and that's why the photo was improper. This does not make any sense but i was not able to get any additional information about this.
Can anyone help me out with what I can do in this matter?
