I had ordered one OTG from the eBay seller ratetag (ratetag.in). The piece must have had cracks due to shipping, and hence the door totally shattered as soon as it was switched on.
On contacting the seller, they refused to help in any way asking us to contact the manufacturer instead and claim warranty. On telling them that would be the procedure to claim warranty on a product that becomes defective on use and not on something which arrived broken, they just plainly refused to change their stand.
On raising this complaint with eBay.in (complaint # KMM40874788V26359L0KM), they too refused to cover us under the PaisaPay guarantee which is supposed to protect a buyer from such fraud. eBay repeated the seller's advise about contacting the manufacturer.
I'm being put through 2 difficulties here, for a mistake that seller did.
1. I'm held responsible to claim and get warranty (if at all), and seller acts as if they have no responsibility
2. I'll end up with a repaired product, after paying for a new one.
More than the money, the total lack of concern for the customer is sad. Especially so since companies like eBay has a totally different set of standards when it comes to markets like the USA.
