I purchased a water purifier on 25/02/2010 with model number P-5200RS with unique model code 11149, but never did register the product as I was not aware of it. Neither the dealer nor the customer care team instructed me to do this. I happened to see the service booklet on 18/05/2010 upon the request of the service technician who came to repair the purifier as it stopped working 2 days ago. In order to register my product to avail the warranty benefits, I did send an SMS (WPL to 58558) on 19/05/2010, but as of yet I did not receive any response from their side. I sent two e-mails to helpdeskindia@whirlpool, but no response. I registered through magicare.in/magic_care, but no use. I got an SMS back stating that they will call soon, but no calls had been made. Technician told me that the pressure switch is damaged and he will come back in two days with the switch and rectify it, but he did not turn up. When I called customer care center, I was asked to wait because of lack of availability of spare part. Several calls were made in this regard, but in vain. Saturday when I called, they said it will be rectified by Monday, but nothing happened. Today, I called the center and I chose to speak in Malayalam (my native language), but when the call is being transferred, it gets disconnected. This happened three times and finally I had to talk in English and one Ms. Sasikala or Sasilekha (not sure) attended the phone and said the technician would come today and rectify it, but no miracle happened as of yet. I feel I am being fooled by them. I purchased this product for my 2.5-year-old nephew because the water we use here is not good. Now he is suffering from diarrhea by using the contaminated water. This was also conveyed to them when I called.
VERY IMPORTANT: Also note that the service technician (Joji) who came to install the product (on 28/02/2010) did not demonstrate any of the 7 functions listed in the service booklet. He just installed the product and left without even filling up the service booklet or warranty card.
I really feel now that I made a big mistake by purchasing this product.
I do not know what to do. Please help me.
