same thing has happened to me too. i was being told that if I pay before January end i shall get my device early in march. datawind was unable to fulfil its commitments. after my no. of mails i was told that i shall recieve my device between 16 april to 30 april. but i have not till date received any device. after that i demanded for refund along with interest and courier charges by june first week.the reply that i got was "YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN DISPATCHED THROUGH DTDC COURIER SERVICE AND U SHALL SOON RECEIVE THE DEVICE"They did not mention the date of dispatch very tactfully and their toll free no. os of no use at all.their phone ends ringing up and no one is ready to answer it and now, when i mailed them that i am going to consumer court, still they are not ready to reply to my mail, or deliver me the device or refund me the entire amount with compensation.

so what you are waiting for? Go to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and lodge your complaints against Datawind. Go [www][dot][core][dot][nic][dot][in]

Dont' worry, keep the complaint no and check after 15-20 days. Also, try to highlight this open SCAM at media. I will try my best to highlight this to media so that Govt. will feel some pressure to stop Datawind from cheating.

I think may be Ministry of Consumer Affairs going to do nothing cause Govt. is directly involved in this SCAM. So better report it to media. I think it's a time to report this scam to news media like AajTak. Send mail to AajTak and ask all your friends to do the same who are victim of the Aakash/ UBISlate scam. Dear Members,

I live in Davanagere, Karnataka. I wanted to give a tablet for my children as a gift for thier birth day. In the month of May-2012 I have sent a cheque for Akash Tablet and and it is credited to thier account also. These bastards not yet sent the tablet and they have sent a new a mail and saying the cost is increasing and asking us to pay another Rs 1000 more that too in online payment. If dont make online payment, they will charge Rs 350 as shipment charge.

Simualtaneosly our great HRD minister telling so many stories about AKASH Tablet.

Please let me know how to take money back from them..

I booked for the tablet in march 2012 and made payment in Aug 2012 upon their confirmation on delivery saying that they will deliver it within 6 weeks.But they confirmed the delivery on november 2012, while acknoledging the dd. Now its 6 months afte payment and they are not even responding to mails. Please do the needful to get my money back with the interest. I have all the mail comumications and dd copy with me if required.

I am also the victim of the akash tablet scam... I booked my tablet around 8 months ago.... still now ther s no response frm them.... I send hell of email... but no use.... this people should be punished. I m having all the evidence like dd copy. courier no. my emails ... so I m going to complaint in consumer forum... if anybody knows how to get money back plz share it....
