In 2009 i purchased a maxtor hardisk which is now owned by Seagate which has 3 YR warranty.For some reason it stopped working,so i contacted seagate company as it was under warranty.They told me to take barcode picture of my hardisk and sent it to some authorized email id of seagate.I did what they told me and within 48 hr i got response that they could not replace my hardisk as its barcode was badly damage.So i mailed them that i had box of that hardisk with printed serial no and product number.But they refused me to replace it based on that.So I again mailed him that when we purchase your hardisk there is no where written that you should preserve barcode otherwise it would be void but i didnt got any response with them.Even i again mailed him stating that you post me a letter containing reason that you cannot replace it due to this reason with authority signature but they refused me.So this is how this seagate company works.I hope that i would get justice for it
