I purchased few CDs (on-line) from India Today Book Club.
They promished me to send the free gift of Rebook T-shirts & Adidas travel bag. It is now more then 5 months, I am following up (Over phone, by E-mail) with India Today. They confirmed me (Over phone, by E-mail) to send the free gift, however I am yet to get the same.
Please help me in getting the same.

I have a complaint to make against India Today Book Club. I purchased a CD's for Rs 499 and was promised a watch. I was given a unique promotion number for getting this. However everytime I put the number it says error in number and inspite of calling the customer service of India Today Book club nobody responds to it. Please advise

I have been one of the victim of India Today Book Club as they promise one thing and deliver another and do not respond after money is paid.
I have been offered Samsung Star 3G mobile phone for 6498 Rupees(INR) with free holiday and free diamond coupons from the promotional sales department by phone on 28th August 2009, the sales person insisted me to make a payment on same day before 1PM so the offerer can be applicable for my purchase. I have made payment from my credit card on the same day as per his timing and I have received the order on 8th Sept 2009. Surprisingly the item I have received is not which I have ordered, instead I received a Samsung Marina 2100 model. Also I have not received any free gifts/coupon which was promised during telephone conversations.
I have called up their customer care (011 40502424) and sent a e-mail complaint on 8th Sept 2009 on following email addresses and several reminders, asking why they have delivered wrong item, what should I do for returning the item as it is not my order.

So far I have not received any solution from the India Today Book Club, every time I call the customer care number, I have spent an average 20 minutes on call and getting FALSE promises of solving the issue in 24 hours. It already 8 days (today 15 Sep 2009), no email reply has been received either. I had requested them to listen to the telephone conversation of the sales executive during the purchase to confirm the FALSE commitment and delivery.
I would like request you to take up this issue and help me resolving the issue. Also I have seen lots of complaints on internet from users who had been cheated by this organization. Please take the appropriate action and prevent rest of the people being cheated by the same organization.

PATHETIC Customer Care from India Today Book Club. Suggest they rename it to Customer Scare.
I bought a Kodak Camera recently and was to get 1 travel voucher and 1 flight voucher along with it. I got the camera but without the free gifts. Subsequent attempts to contact customer care have all failed as I get put on hold for 30 minutes each time before I hang up. However, bulk mail peddling other probably equally phoney offers continue!
This is the last time I bought through them. Please help me resolve this.
I had the misfortune of joining the India Today Book Club. They had offered an Adidas bag worth Rs.650/- as a gift for joining. However, the one they sent - it was Adidas - was a small one worth not more than Rs.150/-. The books and CDs they sent are also overpriced and not worth half the money you are made to pay. Avoid!

i had to change the battery for swatch but as for the other one it was a cheap sub standard watch with no hope of working again..

I had made two orders from India Today on two different dates. One order of 1 pair of reebok shoes and 1 benetton watch. Another order of 1 swatch watch and 1 benetton watch. I received both the orders after few weeks on the same day. Sadly, all the 3 watches were defective. So i returned all the 3 watches and the shoes in a courier in a single parcel.
They refunded the amount of 1 order (of the shoes and watch). For the other other they are saying they have not received it. They are lying. Please guide me what to do now. I had sent them email before sending the parcel too which they had acknowledged.

I have taken many orders from ITBC (India Today Book club) since I joined in 2007. But in last one year, I find that their customer service, product quality, business committment have gone bad to worse. Now almost invariably every order that they take, is only meant to cheat the customer. On last 3 occasions, I had a terrible experience with them.
1) Their products bear MRPs which are arbitrarily high. So the discounts they quote are completely misleading and senseless.
2) The Holiday and air Travel offers which they are providing as free gifts are totally fraud. They have outsourced it to Premier Sales Promotion Ltd, bangalore which I believe is totally fraud. First they will ask to comply with so many Terms and Conditions, that it would be almost impossible to avail that offer. Secondly the procedure is unnecessarily made lengthy and complex to discourage people. In the age of electronic communication, they ask all correspondance to made through ordinary post, that too at a PO number, so that their address is not revealed. These people process your forms very slowly taking months. They again ask for rs. 900/-, that too is required to be sent through ordinary post which is totally unreliable. They can always say that they did not receive it.
I have got 2 such offers, each having one Holiday and air Ticket offer. But I am very sure I cannot avail them.
3) Most of the email addresses/ phone numbers quoted on the site are either invalid or do not respond. And after lot of struggle, even if one happens to connect with these people, their responses are disgusting.
4) On phone, ITBC sales people try all tricks, make all fake committments, which they never comply with. They said one set of products/ free gifts and deliver another set.
I guess some legal action must be taken. Or at least these fraud reports must be brought to media- newspapers, TV news, etc. This is a must so that fresh victims are saved.

With reference to Holiday Package of India Today Book Club via voucher code request form no. 3200 in the name of Amit Laddha dated 13/6/09, I received a voucher code on 8/6/09 via e-mail after lots of follow up. I visited resort-store.com website many times for further booking but due to web service problem not able to book. I called lots of time both Bigcity and India Todat Book Club executives, but not found any solution. Only reply I received is to wait for 10-15 days and problem will be solved.Previously bigcity promotion have customer call no 08040554850 and now they provided separate telephone no. 08040554870 to Indiatodaybookclub members. This new phone is always on hold and not transferred to any executive even after ½ an hour hold. I tried almost 20-30 times within last 2 months. I am sure this not a co-incident that all executives are too busy. I also not received any reply of complain from Kunal Shah and feedback team of Bigcity. They are making us fool. Same with India Toady book Club, I called book club executive Mr. Sarabjeet, who listen full story and cut the phone. Then I called again to Mr. Mukul, he listen the problem and then put me on long call hold. Ultimately I cut the call. Now I have only choice to go in legal forum to stop your team to make the fool other person. I trusted on name of Indiatoday Book Club and as usual you finally cheated me.

I have been victim of them. I had ordered Reebox kit from them on 30 Novenber 2009 till know nothing has come nor they are replying they just send apologi mails & past time so they have the money. They had taken from my credit card on the same day.
I have already asked my bank for charge back from them before it is to late. If you have the same problem please ask ur bank for charge back before 90 days of order. Do not trust them they will ask you to wait so your 90 days time goes.
PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT TRUST THE MOTHER FUCKERS & DO NOT GIVE ORDERS> PLEASE ALSO COMPLAIN AGAINST THEM ALSO INFORM FRIENDS & RELATIVE ABOUT THESE MOTHER FUCKERS SO THEY DO NOT GET TRAPPED>
