I have recently joined this group and very much pleased to see interaction and advises given by senior group members.

I would like to know whether " agency providing domestic help " by charging service fee / annual fee and with defined terms and conditions are covered under consumer act.

Two such agencies taken annual service charge from me with a guarantee of providing domestic help for 1 year neither provided domestic help nor refunded the service charge paid. Can I file a complaint against these agencies for refund of money paid.

I would provide further details if required on this issue.Kindly give your advise on this issue.

You can always try and there is everything to gain for all including readers of this column and I suggest to this forum that a list of businesses and services against whom a complaint has been filed should be maintained as recordsavailable on line at this forum's office and website with a copy sent to the office and a computer accessible record be available as a part of the service to the members to check out history of complaints as reported by consumer.
It reflects consumer perceprion and experience about the business and vendor and both are very useful since businesses spend milloins and billions to create an image,a perception and an impression to get a place in consumers mind ,haert and life!!:-) and thus gain access to our pocket and make us seek their product or service.
I believe that this will be very very effective,protective and preventive for the consumers,will cause damage prevention and control and force the unethical businesses out and support and encourage good business and service practices.
This need should be widely discussed on this forum and a mechnism made available through the website using professional help to make it possible.
