Post HDFC ERGO Home Insurance sold by misrepresentatio

My policy with HDFC Ergo Home Suraksha Plus (Policy No. 2918200009471100000, policy start date July 2010) has been sold to me by misrepresenting facts by HDFC Ergo. This was sold to me along with my home loan and there was gross misrepresentation of facts.

I was told that the premium attached to my loan amount (60 lakhs for 20 years) is one a time payment.I have been asking for the policy document for quite some time from HDFC Ltd as well as HDFC Ergo but in vain..When I approached HDFC Ltd last on 9th November and said that I would like to cancell the policy the staff said they would get back to me and then I was directed to the HDFC Ergo helpline who could not provide me any information on my policy inspite of stating my HDFC Home Loan number.Again I called them mid November and I again a same response was given to me by the HDFC Ltd staff..Today when I called again and sought a copy of the policy I was asked to send a mail by HDFC Ltd and a new number 022-66383600 was given to me of HDFC Ergo and I was asked to call on this number and quote my home loan number and I would get details of my policy...Fortunately after 3 tries I got connected and the lady attending the call was quite cooperative and had to search my loan number through the entire database but in vain.It was only after providing my full name and mobile number she could finally track down my policy number and updated me about the policy details and to my utter astonishment the premium of INR 2,33,000 was only for five years. I immediately voiced my eagerness to cancell the policy to which the call centre executive said a lenghty procedure which I was not in concurrence with. She asked me to send a mail and basis that they would respond on the refund amount and the response was quite ambiguous.

Net Net I would wish to cancel this policy immediately and claim a refund. In view of the same I would like to know the amount that would be refunded to me as of now and the procedure for the same.

I wish to make a cancellation and claim a full refund minus the processing charges. Is there a possibility for me to do so considering that this was mis-sale ?

The astonishing part is that the policy was sold to me from the premises of HDFC Ltd and HDFC employees had no say in it neither were they supportive enough to address my concerns.

Till today HDFC Ergo has not communicated the amount of refund that I would get on cancellation on the policy and the discussions and email responses have been going round and round in circles without any resolution...My email replies as well as call to the help line numbers have not yeilded any results. Moreover when asked whether the welcome call recording mentioned anything on the tenor part of the insurance coverage term(where I had the biggest disconnect) the HDFC Ergo grievance cell officer choose to turn a deaf ear to it conveniently.
