My mobile has been stolen by someone on 23-12-2004 at Land Mark City, A.B.Road, Indore. the subject Mobile was purchased by me on 26/02/2004 and the mobile has been insured vide Certificate No.W/A 074311 by National Insurance Co. Ltd.

Immediately the matter was informed to the coffee shop manager and then MIG Police Station.

When I requested for FIR, I have been informed by the police personnel of MIG Police Station that against theft/stolen/loss of Mobile Phones no FIR will be registered and it will be reported only by Intimation letter mentioning lost.

So I sent the all required paper to Insurer co. but insurer co. inform me due to not filing the FIR and due to mentioning the reason as “lost”, the claim is not payable.

For the evidence I also sent the all paper xerox again with News Paper cutting published on 14th March 2005, in Daily News Paper DAINIK BHASKAR, Indore regarding F.I.R. on theft of Mobile Phones in Indore. The News Paper report is self explanatory.

Pl help. Is it right?

Dear Mr. Jain,

Please send a written complaint to the Head Office of the Co. wait for the response for near 15 to 20 days. Keep a copy of that letter with you so that if the Company fails to give you any solution, you can forward your complaint to the Insurance Ombudsman. Just send a complaint letter to the CMD at their head office address and revert back soon after getting any reply from them.

I already submitted written complaint & many Emails with all documents xerox but no one is responding. I sent last letter on dated 16-Mar-2005. Pl help.

I have all corrospondance with co. and reply of Co., insurance Certificate, Bill copy, FIR Copy, New Sim issue recpt, Postal Recpts. If you want to see I will send it to you.
