Dear Sir,
I bring the following lines for your kind attention,
1. We had taken a HDFC Life insurance policy no 10517761 for a study loan for my son undergoing MBA from IIPM Bangalore.The policy was hypothecated to UBI Domlur Branch. The value of policy was 5,20,000/- to cover the study loan.


a. My son expired in a car accident on 07 Jul 2010. The policy was in force. The claim documents in respect of the deceased was submitted to UBI Domlur and subsequently submitted to HDFC Life insurance on 23 Jul 2010. The docs were misplaced and we had to again submit the documents to My Vijay employee of UBI . Mr Vijay on the orders of Mr Prasad Senior manager UBI submitted the required docs and who had a receipt for the same from HDFC.


b. HDFC refused to process the claim in view of docs not held with them. This process carried on till to date. The formalities of processing the claim with HDFC came under the preview of Mr Verghese the Marketing Manager of UBI. He has taken me on a wild goose chase and till date no satisfactory culmination of the claim has taken place. No one is prepared to give a correct answer. So what do I do ?


c. HDFC passes on the buck to UBI stating that they are the first beneficiary as the study loan has been taken from your bank.They refuse to divulge the reasons for non processing of the claim which only Mr Verghese knows the true story.


Finally i have decided that if your office is not in position to process the claim I will perforce be obliged to report to banks Ombudsman and to IRDA claiming compensation for every day the claim was submitted to till date and harassment caused to the parents of Late Abhishek Bali.


None but the least take my petition to H'able Consumer Court as a last resort.


I hope that you will use your good offices to get the claim settled at the earliest for which i will be extremely greatful.
