Hi

I had purchased a HTC Desire HD whose cost is around 27,190 on 3rd March 2011. It was lost due to theft on the KSRTC bus on 20th June 2011. After over one month, the insurance guys now come back saying that they require an FIR copy for the mobiles valuing more than 15,000. Despite my repeated request the police officials refuse to provide an FIR. And these insurance guys insist that they want the FIR.

I am a software professional and I don't have the time to rally behind these guys. I think the police, the insurance guys and the thieves are interconnected since THIEVES are NEVER caught, POLICE NEVER give FIR and the insurance guys NEVER give you money without that.

So all in all, people who buy these insurance policies are fools, it is bad enough that we have to bear the brunt of losing the phone but to add to that these insurance people rub salt on the wound by all these policies. At least they should check the authenticity of a person and then take a call - I have provided all the other details and I even took 4 days off from work to run behind police officials for the FIR but to no avail.

I have completely lost faith in the INSURANCE and JUDICIAL systems and will never buy an insurance at all since it proves to be SO useless in the hour of need.
