Good Day To You, i would be so grateful if anyone could giude me as how to go about filing a consumer complaint against GATI . i am being mentally harassed for the last two months,my husband had sent a washing machine and some other articles from kuwait to kolkata. after setting up the machine we found out that it was totally damaged and beyond repair. we went to the gati office, where we were told that since we had insurance they will be able to process the claim in 10 days. it took them 15 days to just send the surveyour for on the spot inspection, and another 20 days for the surveyour to submit his report and that also after several follow up from our side only. after almost two months,gati sent a person along with the report and the amount they are willing to offer as compensation,they are quoting me 13500 INR ,whereas when i am asking for a quote from any electronic stores for a machine of my capacity they are quoting me 18 to 2o thousand,so i called up gati and told them that i was not interested in the cheque,just to give me a replacement of the washing machine, the response i got from them was that they are only going to give the amount the surveyour has quoted.am i being very unreasonable if i am expecting gati to just compensate for my loss?? plz help me
