    Thumbs down IRCTC website Public interest complaint

    Dear Sir,

    I have booked ticket of Indian railways online, it was W/L 1. It could not confirm, but tickets having W/L up to 5 confirmed. TC as well as railway call center is asking that they do not confirm online booking tickets.

    As railways charges extra money for internet reservation, so they should not do these ill treatment to its passengers.

    Railways either should not book waiting ticket online or should refund all amount which is incidental to this ticket including bank charges. As bank never refunds transaction charges, but it is responsibility of railways to reimburse same money.

    Unhappy Non refund of UNUSED ticket

    Dear Consumer Activisit

    Details of my complaint are as under:

    PNR No 250-5798972

    Date of travel (planned) November 12, 2007

    Train no 2622

    Station from / to NDLS to MAS

    Class 2A

    Name of the passenger S.Venkatesh

    Fare Rs 2033.00

    Request for refund made November 13, 2007

    Vide E-Mail addressed to IRCTC.CO.IN

    Papers forwarded
    By IRCTC New Delhi to S Rly on November 13, 2007

    IRCTC New Delhi have sent several reminders to S Rly - - vide their letters dated 13.11.2007, 25.04.2008, 28.03.2009 and again on 10.07.2009.

    In the meantime S.Rly has sent a communication dated MAS/8-9/E/77041/21/27.04.9/SR said that the refund is not payable since the claim has been lodged after the allowed period (90 days).

    This is NOT true since the claim has been made on the VERY NEXT DAY itself.

    Pls see how best U can help in getting a letter from Chief Commercial Manager S.Rly that the passenger did not travel and hence the refund may be processed.


    I am constantly writing to IRCTC but no result achieved.

    I want to file a complaint with the consumer court.

    Pls help.

    Dear Mr. Sridharan,

    Pls. inform us that you have made any correspondence with the Railway Deptt., by your self. You have booked the tickets through IRCTC and paid the amount through them so now the IRCTC is liable to give you the refund and follow up the Railway Deptt. Kindly provide us the replies you have received through them.

    Default Concurrency problem with IRCTC

    Respected Sir/Ma'am,

    I had booked an e ticket on august 5, through IRCTC, however due to concurrency problems with IRCTC, ticket got booked with somone else's user id, even after I have proved that there was a mistake from IRCTC side & I am the real owner of the ticket, no action has been taken so far. I do have all mails that I had sent to them and their replies, if needed I can provide them. I also have the print out and soft copy of the ticket having ny name in the passenger name list. After, I bought to their attention that , name on passenger name list, sender of the mail & name in the profile on their website IRCTC Online Passenger Reservation Site is all same & they all belong to me, they stopped replying. I did get a call from irctc, stating that they will check the logs and will get back to me, but nothing happened. Please tell me, what can be done under these circumstances.

    Red face Very Bad treatment by IRCTC Staff in General.

    The Railway station reservation counter at North Coimbatore junction at Coimbatore
    has staff acting very rudely and do not give a chance to even explain our problem.
    What they say is final. How do we know that they represent the rules in a true manner.

    My problems was that I gave to reservation application forms. In one form only six
    passengers are allowed to filled in. And hence if we have seven member family we have to
    fill in the seconed form for the remaining on member. Thats fine. But while producing both
    the forms the do not take both of them for reservation they only take one and ask us to
    go to the next counter for getting the reservation for the one member. Basically we have to
    get in the que or in a line. the problem is I have to go back to the end of the que for
    again producing my second form. This could result in my not getting a seat and the
    frustration to go back the lone que is to much . Please advise as to how to bring the
    evil to an end.

    Default Ticket status changed from confirm to waitlisted

    Dear sir, I got my ticket booked on Nov. 20, 2009 from Kanpur Central to Howrah Jn with the following details

    PNR No 2266574228
    Train No 2312
    Train Name KALKA MAIL
    From CNB To HWH
    Date 22-11-2009
    Class 1A
    Boarding Point CNB Reservation Upto HWH
    Quota General

    Status CONFIRM

    When the train arrived I did not find my name on chart. On contacting the customer care, I was told that the coach for First AC was not attached in the train and so my status was changed from confirm to waitlisted. He asked me to write a mail to IRCTC to get the refund. I boarded the same train, paid fine (ticket charges +Rs. 365) for travelling without ticket and traveled in First AC (which was actually attached unlike claimed by the customer care).

    I want to file a complaint against IRCTC with the following questions:

    1. Why my confirmed ticket for First AC was converted to waitlisted within 36 hrs of booking the ticket when there was a coach attached for First AC.

    2. Since I had a confirmed ticket, IRCTC could have accomodated me in a 2A or 3A berths instead of making my ticket waitlisted.

    3. Money for waitlisted tickets automatically gets refunded automatically. But in my case money has not yet refunded to my account, I had to file a TDR for that and waiting for the refund.

    Please help

    Default Sesssion expired amount has been debited from the account

    Hi,
    While booking ticket session has been expired when the payment has been under processed. I had booked ticket form visakhapatnam to anantapur(Prasanthi express) on 23th dec 2009, journey date is 25th dec 2009, transcation id is 0169655349.. it says that tket has not been booked but the amount has been debited.. Please do the necessary need so that the amount would be credited back.

    No action has been taken till today.

    For your information , two sets of ticket of passengers each were booked on the same train and same date with same name of passengers on waitlist ticket with a hope that one are birth tickets in each ticket will be available on quota.

    On the day of journey , 3 seats in AC-III was confirmed and 1 seat in AC-II .

    I expect the refund of 4 passengers as it was in Wait list and same man can not travel in two births at a time .

    Please look into matter on urgent basis . I hope new year will facilitate my money back.

    II AC ticket from Varanasi to Cuttack for four adults in Train No. 2876 for dated 07-06-09
    PNR No. 2360733806 and Transaction ID : 0118600384 . All the above tickets were wait listed . On the day of journey i.e 07-06-09 out of 4 passenger , one passenger seat was confirmed on VIP quota on 07-06-09 and rest 3 passengers were in waiting list.

    III AC ticket from Varanasi to Cuttack for four adults in Train No. 2876 for dated 07-06-09
    PNR No. 2260776529 and Transaction ID : 0118604006 . All the above tickets were wait listed . On the day of journey i.e 07-06-09 out of 4 passenger , three passenger seat was confirmed on VIP quota on 07-06-09 and rest 1 passenger was in waiting list.



    As per my understanding , the waitlisted passengers money is to be refunded automatically in case of e tickets.



    When money was not received TDRs were filed on 12th and 25th June 2009.



    On December 1, 2009 I received only Rs. 651 against the first ticket booking. in my account . I was surprised to see the return money amount which is much less than of Rs. 4900 which is actually due for return.



    I am attaching all the correspondence for your information and appropriate action .

    I hope I will be able to receive the due amount immediately as already 6 months have passed.

    I am sorry to say but I will be compelled to approach consumer forum after 7 days from today and other possible avenues to get my money back.

    Default Lost 1000 rupees because of IRCTC late processing

    I have booked tatkal e-ticket on 01-04-2010 from SHORANUR JN(SRR) to SECUNDERABAD(SC).
    While i was starting the booking available seats were shown as 5.
    Due to IRCTC late process at the end of booking I got waiting list i.e WL/3 with Total ticket fare is Rs.1326/- . So immediately i cancelled the ticket then only Rs 256/- was refunded. Its very less amount i.e nearly 80% was deducted.

    Because of IRCTC late process i lost more than 1000 rupees
    Please help me in this.

    Dear Sir,

    I would like to pay your attention on my refund status, I have booked a ticket on 20.10.2009 against PNR no 2365363789 ,but due to reason train was late more than 3 hrs i had filled a TDR to refund the same on dated 21.10.09 b;coz TDR could not be Filed on same date, The railway authorities assure me to refund the same shortly, but after several reminder and mails they finally replied me that your are not liable for refund as the passenger was travelled on that ticket But sir how can they say that the passenger travelled on that ticket after 4-5 months even after noboody is travelled on that ticket and why they approved my refund on verry beginning , therefore requested to you to pls interfere and help me in getting my refund ,detail of communication can be provide if required

    Thumbs down slowest website ever seen

    i was trying to book my ticket in tatkal for delhi to mumbai in golden temple exactly @ 8:00 am, at that time availability was arnd 104.
    I was very happy that getting ticket to mumbai very easily. Well then when i logged into the website it was working after banging my head for f*****g hell 50 mins i was been able to get into that shit website, then still after that it took arnd 15 mins to get the f*****g shit ticket & that is with the waiting of 71. & infact my net always working darn hell good, still it took that much time.
    WOW!!!!!!!!!
    For god darn sake plz do something about this website as this is not a 1st instance that it happend with me. If its gonna work this way then y the hell we r booking our tickets thru the website.
    Better to go to railway reservation center after spoiling ur sleep & smells like u r in 10,000 b.c & getting push & lovely GALIYAN from here & there. This will be much better facility we do have then on website.
    I m so offended that do not want to travel anymore by train as b'coz of this lovely reason.
