I am writing this email after getting frustrated with the rigorous follow up with HDFC bank Credit card customer service.
My name is Ajit Rai and my PAN no is AKKPR9682F.
I had a credit card - 5243681100772451 date of issue 12/02/2008 with hdfc bank.
which i used for sometime.
I was called from hdfc back for ready loan approval on 0% intrest rate in the year 2009-2010 if i have a hdfc credit card if I invest the same amount in HDFC bank itself and that amount will be deducted in regular EMI in 12 months tenure.
Which I Was agreed and gave my permission to HDFC personal to deduct the amount from my credit card and start the EMI for the same amount.
Everything was going fine because they were sending me some lumpsum amount on every months bill and i was regularly paying those amounts thinking that EMI is also getting included in the same amount. After Seven months I got a call from HDFC recovery dept that Why I am not paying the amount and I am just paying the minimum amount and HDFC recovery dept threatened me to pay the complete amount and also disbled my credit card after that.
After this incident i was in deep shock for the payment which i did to hdfc was just an interest later i contacted to HDFC bank and asked for the clarification then the receiving end person said that it was never converted into EMI and If i want he would convert that amount in regular EMI which he did but i also asked him to provide me the last seven months of bill which he said he cant do that because there are some rules in hdfc but he will try to send me the statements for my reference.
I was agreed with that and i kept paying rest of the amount for sometimes waiting for my statement to come which never happend I also contacted many times to hdfc chennai branch and talked to them about my issue but they were not able to resolve my issue and keep hanging my call by saying that i need to talk to the branch which has issued my credit card. ( Lokhandwala, Mumbai) and gave me the branch number. Which I also used to contact them to know the exact situation and they were pretty rude and asked me to pay the complete amount and they refused to give it on their fault of not converting the amount on time. They just said its your duty to check whether it was confirmed or not.
This was also not an end , after that i started to get calls from HDFC recovery and they harassed me for not paying me and called me a cheat and thief and refused to listen to my plea.
After that i compromised to the situation and i told this guy that I wil only pay the amount if HDFC is going to provide me the statements of all these months. At that time there was around 23000 / - amount was due and I paid 16000/- and asked that I would only pay the amount of 8000/- only when i will be provided the statement once i confirm that I am not getting cheated by HDFC bank. that also never happened and as usual HDFC credit kept sending me the bills with late fine
it is also to mention that my credit card was disabled long time back.
Later for sometime i was not in india and i was not able to follow up with hdfc on continuous basis. mean while HDFC has deducted total amount 3371.35 + 2000 = 5371.35 rs. from my hdfc saving account and still they are asking me to pay for rs 13000 /- for i dont know what ?
I also have raised the same complain to them to HDFC several times but they are not listening to my plea and keep playing with my emotions by sending fake bills and legal notices.
I am completely not in position to think and I need your advice to move ahead.
