I am Rakesh Singh. My HDFC Bank A/c No - 00881140113345 and My Credit card No - 4617 8620 0162 5565
This is to inform you that, I had made few transactions on my credit card and I have been paying my installments always in due time without delay. My due payment dates normally fall on 28th of every month.
On December, 28th 2011, I called up the HDFC Credit card department and spoke to Mr. Khadak Singh CCE (Call ref no- 11362470375).
I informed him that I wanted to clear all my dues and wanted to pay each and every remaining amount in full. I did not want any further dues in my Credit card.
I was told that to pre-pay my dues I have to pay Rs. 58,460/- which included the prepayment charge of 3%. I asked him to cross check this figure with any supervisor and let me know if this is the last amount I have to pay to clear everything.
He said very confidently that this is the last amount I have to pay and there will be no more dues.
Next thing I did was, I paid Rs. 58, 460/- in full online through net banking, which I normally do.
After two days i.e that on 30th December, 2011, I called up again to HDFC Credit card department just to make sure my dues were cleared.
I spoke to Ms. Kawaljeet Kaur call ref 11365769267. This is when I got first shock. The lady told me that I have to file request for a Pre-Closer of loan amount. I told her that, when I spoke the Mr. Khadak Singh, I did mean to close everything. He never informed me forwarding any pre-closer request.
Anyways I asked her to forward the request and inquired if my dues were cleared and to my second shock she said she cannot tell me that at that moment and I would get a verification call later. I thought there was something fishy about all this.
I got a call after two or three days from Mr. Vishal Thapa - Sr. CSE, who was very rude on call and informed me that I had to pay Rs. 2,512/- more to close the loan. I was not happy with this. The person even threatened me, that until I pay this amount. my loan will not be closed.
I was confused and helpless. I called up again after few days and spoke to a guy, I don't remember his name and unfortunately I did not note down his name as I was travelling. I wanted to speak to a Manager in charge, however this person spoke to his Manager as his manager could not come to line and informed me that since I was miss-informed, so they bank may consider waiving off the 3% prepayment charge. Which meant, out of that Rs. 2,512/- due approx - Rs.1500 will be waived off. and I just have to pay Rs. 900/-.
I was ready to pay that amount, but the person said I will get a call back from the dept. soon. However I did not receive any call from anyone what so ever.
After a long wait I called up on 28th Jan. 2012 and spoke to Ms. Divya Navh call ref 12028955615. She said, she will inform the concerned dept. (I don't know whether they even have name for this dept.) and I will get a call shortly.
I also asked her that, I have been paying my dues on time and since 28th is normally my last day of payment will I be charged with any late fine or any charges? She assured me that any charges caused due to delays by the bank will be waived off.
Today I got call from Mr. Manoj Kumar from HDFC Credit Card dept. He said I have to pay this amount. I wanted him to tell me the final amount I have to pay as I am literally not happy with the miss information and none transparent procedure of the Bank.
To my utmost horror, he said I have to pay Rs. 2944/- instead of Rs. 2512/- which I obviously denied to pay.
My request to you Sir, I have gone through lot of mental harassment by the HDFC Credit Card team. I do not have time to follow up such things every now and then. I have been repeating to these guys that if could manage to pay Rs. 58.460/- then I don't mind paying the rest. But my main concern is the rude behavior of the CCE's and false commitment given to me each and every time I called.
No wonder there are so many cases of Non-Performing Assets (NPA's) where people go absconding. Bank is treating like slaves to genuine people who pay their dues on time and never cause any trouble.
Please help me in this case asap as this is causing me lot of mental disturbances.
