My wife and I have a joint savings account with State Bank of India, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. We are loyal customers to SBI and have deposited lot of our money in it. We left to America 3 years ago and returned back 3 weeks ago. Before leaving to America, we kept some of our gold jewelry and a few silver items in the locker provided by the bank. On 24th Jan’09, we went to bank to do the locker operation and found that the locker door was already open. The manager who came along with us to open the locker door was shocked and informed branch manager immediately. Both the managers asked us to check for the items and report of missed items. Later, we found that 80,000 /- worth of gold jewelry was missing from the locker. When we reported the same to them, they were not ready to take even a complaint. We had requested them to acknowledge on a paper that the locker door was open before we entered into locker room. They did not even agree to this. We suspect that there is some fraud behind this incident and wanted to file a case in consumer court. Please suggest on how to proceed on filing case.

On July 15, I paid 100% payment for a Godrej Kreations closet. I was promised full installation by Sep 1, 2011. Even after repeated phone calls and complaints till date the installation was not completed. They delivered the locker piece by piece and I have to beg them to send someone to install. They send someone and that person says "this piece is missing, that screw is missing etc". Everytime something is missing Godrej tells me that they have to ship it from Bombay and it takes 4 to 6 weeks.
No money was returned to me.
Please file a case in consumer court against Godrej.

My friend and I were born in India but have been in the USA for the last 25 years. we are shocked and ashamed at the rise in corruption, lack of honesty & cheating by big companies and Banks. We feel we cannot do any transaction or business in India as there is a neear 100% chance of losing our money and not getting the goods or services promised. If this continues foreign investment will drop off and outsourcing from America to India will be a historical foot note.
