My name is Shahnawaz Ansari i am writing this post in the wake of fraud being garnered by ICICI Bank on several occasions with my father and since then I have started handling and dealing with all his transactions since he cannot keep a track of everything because he has lot more things to do than just running after some morons. About 10 Months back my father's card got blocked and when he called ICICI bank they said that since he has not paid his minimum due thats why the card got blocked..In that case my asked that customer care agent as to how much is the total outstanding on his account the Representative informed that total was about Rs.2730,my father without taking any risk went ahead and deposited Rs.3000 and later on he again called back ICICI since he wanted to unblock the card but representative informed him that they have received Rs.3000 but they cannot unblock the card he has to apply for it afresh.
Then my father left the idea of applying for fresh credit card and after 10 months and so no statements been sent to us nothing not even a single statement a guy appears from nowhere and says that he needs to speak to my father as he is due Rs.5000 I asked him for any statement and the reason why we never received any statement all this while they said that since the card was blocked we don't send statement and the guy was only stressing on settlement I told him why settlement for Rs.2000why should we get a black spot on our credit history..I told him that give us the statement and we will pay entire amount of Rs.5000 but since they don't have anything to show they said that for entire years statement will cost us Rs.1000 extra I said why all this while when we were using the card we were getting statements but now Rs.1000. I told him we won't pay anything without statement and told him to give us the statement. And then the guy left and after that we started receiving calls for settlement for Rs.1000 now I said no we will pay everything ..after few calls the guy started threatening me and abusing me and started calling my father a defaulter ,cant digest this fact that my father is a defaulter when he can wear a watch costing Rs.27000 for a small bill of Rs.5000 he becomes defaulter. Then after few threatening calls his supervisor called in again for the same Rs.1000 settlement which I cannot agree to. I asked him to give us the statement he said and I quote "Sir i will get a statement made but it will not show on which balance the interest is charged but it will only show that interest is charged I asked him has he gone mad I asked him then how come people get to know what they have spent and where they have spent and what they are paying for? "
You know same was the case a year before an ICICI officer called and said that there is a free health insurance is been on offering for free for a year and then later on they started deducting Rs.2000 from my father's salary account. Then I again have to intermediate and get this thing straightened up but by then my father end up already paying Rs.12000.
But this time around if I'll get a call and threat over the phone I might as well end up taking some uncalled for action and also will be lodging an FIR against ICICI Bank for threatening us and lodge a complain for defamation and that call I am expecting it very soon and this time around I will make sure I make ICICI's life a living hell as they have made my father's and that I promise I'll drag them to court and media and then they will realize playing with common people is not an easy way out.
