Dear Customer,HDFC Auto loan department is a complete failure!!!
I took a loan of 4 lac 8 thousand from HDFC for car finance in Jan, 2005.The duration of loan was 5 years with a monthly EMI of Rs. 8548. I opted for a direct debit from my salary account in ABM amro bank.
Due to some reasons direct Debit did not happen for 18 months[ till August 2006] between the 2 banks & executive of HDFC bank use to come to my home to collect the EMI through cheque for this duration. On asking why there is no direct debit happening, he kept on saying that there is some problem between the 2 banks.He also given me a letter dated 6th April'05 stating the technical problem due to which ECS not presented.This letter however was only for one month.
In 2006 August ECS started & the EMI started getting deducted from my salary account however please note that the date opted by me was 15th & the amount was always debited 3 to 4 days late & in some months even later than that.
In May 2009 HDFC collection executive started calling me stating that i have an outstanding payment of Rs. 3700 against my loan account. Astonished & shocked i asked them why they say so?? Initially different executives have different stories to tell.
Initailly they said that one of my cheque bounced in Feb 2005 due to missing signature , because of which there are bouncing & interest charges, however when i told them that i made that payment of Rs. 450 in the same month of Feb 2005 & also told them the receipt number, they had nothing to say.
After 10 days they again called me up & repeated the outstanding balance of approximately same amount. When i asked this time they said that IT IS DUE TO LATE PAYMENTS - FROM FEB 2005 to JULY 2006. I counterpoint them stating that there was no ECS between the 2 banks due to which direct debit did not happen however my payments were always ready whenever your Executive use to come in & collect.
I also told them about the letter that thier representative gave to me however they categorically told me " WOH TO EXECUTIVE THA US PAR BHAROSA NAHI KAR SAKTE HUM" I was actually shocked when i heard this & stated that FOR ME HE WAS HDFC BANK on which i trusted & took a loan & giving him cheques of Rs. 8458/ which not a small amount for a salaried man like me.
These executives started calling me in day in day out for the payments.I told them there is no fault of me as a customer when there is technical problem between the 2 banks & MOREOVER I WAS NEVER INFORMED PRIOR, YOU GUYS ARE CALLING ME AFTER 4.5 years to inform me this.To this there response was " CLOSING KA TIME HAI". How irritating!!!!
After so much of harassment by their calls I took the pain & went to their Safdurjung Delhi office in Nov 2009, filed a written complaint stating my problem, took a receiving from them which guaranteed they will act upon it.
My anticipation was wrong as i expected & nothing happened.HDFC so called collections agents started calling me again harassing me day & night, every day even on Sunday's from their Rajouri Garden office in Delhi.
I told them again that i have submitted the complaint & application to which their reaction was very casual as if 1000 of complaint go in the same drain & it does not impact the way they work.In this disagreement one of their supervisors from Rajouri Garden abused me & said " Let me see how you get your NOC".
Finally one executive called me & said that we have received your complaint & bank has decided to waive off 50% of the outstanding amount i:e you have to just pay half of Rs. 3700. I decided to wrap up this harassment of 7 to 8 months & paid them Rs. 1880/ in April 2010. Their executive came & collected the amount.
After they received the amount they said I WILL RECEIVE THE NOC IN 7 days.ITS SEP 2010 & STILL I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY NOC, neither any communication from HDFC bank.
This is RIDICULOUS!!! Upsetting....after so much of harassment that i went through & finally shelling out money STILL THE SITUATION IS SAME with the difference that i am not getting any calls now!
HDFC is such a big brand name ....i never expected this from HDFC!
I have all the recordings of their confused & dumb employees who did not know why they were charging me as some told me the charges are due to interest of cheque bounce & some gave me a story of late payments when i turned out to be a smart customer catching them on spot!
Thier customer service skills are pathetic/poor/not sensitive to teh customer who is paying them heavy interests from which they pay thier employees salary!!!
I have the proof that the bank has charged me over & above they should without any reasons.
