Recently I moved to Singapore and required my chequebook as I had to give to another bank to take home loan. I was short of three cheques. That was one month before I moved to Singapore. After 15 days of request, when I did not receive my chequebook, I called up customer care. The said that since I had raised the request through nternet Banking, they cannot access my request status!!!! After multiple calls, I found out that they had sent it to my residence address and since I was in office, it was sent back to the branch. Since my acount was in a bank which was far off from my residence, I requested them to send it to my nearest branch. They agreed to do that. But that did not happen till I moved to Sinapore. Again I followed up with the branch and asked them that I need my chequebook urgently please let me know whether it can be sent to my Singapore address or if somebody can collect it from the branch with my authority letter. But no reponse for a long time. When I escalated my service request to Level 3 but nothing happened, One lady and a senior branch manager finally mailed me that they will send it to my Singapore address. Finally I took a sigh of relief. But no!!!! That was not all.... I got another call from the bank. I was told that since my chequebook has been with the branch for more than 21 days it has been destroyed. I was clueless. In the meantime my pay order was cancelled by the bank which had approved my loan. I had raised the request on 20thMAr and today is 9th May and now I have lost all hope. The builder will cancel my allocation. and I will lose a lot of money(forget the processing charge and other expenses incurred in applying for loan).
Highly irrresponsible behaviour by the senior officials of ICICI bank. Really disappointed. CAn somebody help in gettig the money I lost or getting my chequebook delivered within a week as this is the max time I can ask for getting the pay order revived.
