BARCLAYCARD (CREDIT CARD) – FRAUD AND CHEATING

I was holding a gold credit card of BARCLAYCARD (card No. 4339**********14 from the year of 2008.

In the month of Fab 2010, someone executive is calling me from Barclaycards Mumbai call centre and said this is promotional campaign we provide you a new Platinum Barclaycard with credit limit of Rs. 1,00,000/-, for getting that card you can buy one MetLife Medical Policy from us in Rs. 7373 and they said we convert that policy transaction amount in monthly EMI and you can pay only two EMI Premium of the above policy.

They are said, after paying of two premiums of the policy we stop your existing gold credit card and despatch your New Platinum Barclaycard with refund of two policy premiums as paid by you & card bonus of Rs. 3,500 by DD and balance policy premiums is paid by Barclaycard, this is promotion campaign and this is only for our 2-3 years old customers.

After that, they will sell the above MetLife policy to me by phone call on online MetLife IVR Menu, he have all the details of my credit card, after holding me on phone he will feed all the details by self on IVR menu and debit the payment from my card, after 15 days i have received the policy by courier on my mailing address.

After dispatching the policy paper every week they are calling me from telephone Nos. 022-42495000, 39534500, 39534600 and confirming the payment details of the policy.

I am paying the two premiums of the policy in March & April Month, In May 2010 i had called to Barclaycards customer contact centre in Gurgaon on Telephone No. 0124-6752222 and asking for my new card despatch details. And they said we was not aware any promotional campaign & calls for the new card & policy.

I am calling many times in Barclaycards customer contact centre & given the complaint against this fraud but every time he said will not sell the policy in this type of campaign. after all that, I requested them to cancel the above MetLife policy and my credit card also immediately. Now they responded saying I have to pay the full payments & fee as above and then can take up request for cancellation through different channel, by writing to their office address or talking to on phone.

I do not intend to make the above payment as I feel cheated by Barclaycards by giving false information and their deliberate intention was to cheat.

In July month they are calling me every day from morning 7.00 am to evening 7.30 pm in 15-20 times in a day on my mobile nos. from Mumbai telephone Nos. 022-42495000, 39534500, 39534600, and asking for a payment, every time i am telling for this complaint but they are not listen to me.

My questions are
1. Why the Barclaycard selling the MetLife Policy to Barclaycards customer?
2. Who will authorized to Barclaycard for MetLife?

This is totally fraud & cheating by Barclaycard.

Where can I take legal recourse and what are the legal remedial courses available to me from this daylight robbery.

NOW FROM THE 6TH OF AUGUST THEY ARE CALLING ME FROM THE MOBILE NOS. 9811806842, 9873023470, AND WARN ME FOR PAYMENT. THEY ARE TELLING ME GIVE US THE PAYMENT IMMEDIATELY OTHERWISE WILL RECOVER THE MONEY FROM OTHER TYPE OF SOURCE.
