I had availed a personnal loan from ICICI bank on the base of their platinum credit card three years before for a tenure of 4 years. As there was some family problem and financial issues I was not able to pay the emi from August 2010. In between ICICI bank representative called me and suggested to go for a settlement for my pending credit card amount and the loan amount pending. After reiterating and confirming with their representative over the phone, that whether my entire financial relationships with ICICI will be settled, I made a payment of 81000/- by cheque by borrowing from friends and relatives. Now after the cheque is cleared collections people from loan department are calling me to clear my dues and pressuring me to make the payment. Even after informing them that the settlement has done vide cheque and the chapter is closed they are frequently calling and disturbing me. Now they are saying that whether the settlement letter has mentioned anything about loan settlement. I said that their representative has assured that since the loan is on the base of my credit card the letter will be shown as credit card settlement only but it consists of the entire amount viz credit card and loan. I am so depressed by the frequent calls and mentally disturbed that at times feel like ending my life along with my family of two kids and wife. Please help.
