Respected, sir, this is to inform and update you that we opened a Current A/c with HDFC bank in the name of M/s Jagjeet Enterprises, with A/c number 16582020000034, and requested for an EDC machine installation as well, as we were promised that there will be no installation fees for the EDC machine.
In April 2010, I received a call from Mr. Pramod, regarding the installation of the EDC machine, for which I have refused, as I wanted to clarify few things before I go ahead and install EDC machine.
I am flying as an Airline captain on international routes and am generally away for weeks together, which leaves me no time to frequently check Account transactions, it was only on receipt of a bank statement in the month of May 2010, that we realized that our Account has been debited of 2757.50 Rupees for the installation of EDC machine, which was promised to be installed free of cost, by Mr. Avdesh and Mr. Lalan, who came to opened our Current A/c.
I wrote an email explaining the same to HDFC bank Customer care service on 22.05.2010, following which I got a call from M/s Shipra and Mr. Anurag, (who I am told is EDC machine head for Delhi) on 26.05.2010 and was promised that the EDC machine installation charges will be waived off.
Today on 28.05.2010 I received a call from Mr. Anurag who told me that the EDC machine installation charges can not be reverted and he requested me to install the EDC machine, so that their EDC machine installation charges deducted are justified, to which I have refused and decided to take up this matter in consumer court.
I have following queries as follows:
1. We were promised that the EDC machine will be installed free of cost repeatedly by Mr. Avdesh and Mr. Lalan, while opening a Current Account, but still were charged for the installation of the same.
2. While Communicating with HDFC bank staff, I am being convinced to accept the EDC machine installation charges, instead of penalizing their employees for their mistake and feeding customers with wrong commitment, I am being forced to borne the unfair charges.
3. As communicated earlier, we have not installed EDC machine at our premises till date, but now we are being forced to install the EDC machine at our premises so that the bank is able to justify the installation charges levied on our current A/c.
4. The above stated incident has affected our business prospectus, and has caused mental agony.
5. I have lost complete faith in HDFC bank after the unfair treatment and would not like to have any relationship with the bank, I request my deposited money of 25,000/- rupees along with compensation as the higher authorities may deem fit to be returned to us.
