    Default Complaint Against HDFC bank for Wrong Commitment

    Respected, sir, this is to inform and update you that we opened a Current A/c with HDFC bank in the name of M/s Jagjeet Enterprises, with A/c number 16582020000034, and requested for an EDC machine installation as well, as we were promised that there will be no installation fees for the EDC machine.
    In April 2010, I received a call from Mr. Pramod, regarding the installation of the EDC machine, for which I have refused, as I wanted to clarify few things before I go ahead and install EDC machine.

    I am flying as an Airline captain on international routes and am generally away for weeks together, which leaves me no time to frequently check Account transactions, it was only on receipt of a bank statement in the month of May 2010, that we realized that our Account has been debited of 2757.50 Rupees for the installation of EDC machine, which was promised to be installed free of cost, by Mr. Avdesh and Mr. Lalan, who came to opened our Current A/c.

    I wrote an email explaining the same to HDFC bank Customer care service on 22.05.2010, following which I got a call from M/s Shipra and Mr. Anurag, (who I am told is EDC machine head for Delhi) on 26.05.2010 and was promised that the EDC machine installation charges will be waived off.

    Today on 28.05.2010 I received a call from Mr. Anurag who told me that the EDC machine installation charges can not be reverted and he requested me to install the EDC machine, so that their EDC machine installation charges deducted are justified, to which I have refused and decided to take up this matter in consumer court.
    I have following queries as follows:
    1. We were promised that the EDC machine will be installed free of cost repeatedly by Mr. Avdesh and Mr. Lalan, while opening a Current Account, but still were charged for the installation of the same.
    2. While Communicating with HDFC bank staff, I am being convinced to accept the EDC machine installation charges, instead of penalizing their employees for their mistake and feeding customers with wrong commitment, I am being forced to borne the unfair charges.
    3. As communicated earlier, we have not installed EDC machine at our premises till date, but now we are being forced to install the EDC machine at our premises so that the bank is able to justify the installation charges levied on our current A/c.
    4. The above stated incident has affected our business prospectus, and has caused mental agony.
    5. I have lost complete faith in HDFC bank after the unfair treatment and would not like to have any relationship with the bank, I request my deposited money of 25,000/- rupees along with compensation as the higher authorities may deem fit to be returned to us.

    Default Bad service about online DD

    This is ramakrishna,I have opened my Account 2004 oct,First time iam making DD online from this bank,They deducted my amount 15000/ on same day (20th aug -2010),Till now they have not provided any reference number or DD details.I made several calls to phone banking every day because i requested this is for my admission in university,every day they promise they will inform the details.Till time(27.aug-2010) they have not informed the
    DD details.What is the problem to make DD or giving reference number for this many days.
    This is first bank i ever experienced worst services.
    If i lost my admission what this people do?.

    Hell service.My sincere suggestion not to open any account this bank or any transcations.

    Angry HDFC Bank customer service does not exist

    Monday September 6, 2010 : on september 6th entire day HDFC BANK Netbanking not available. Whenever I call customer service I get answer "we apologise" this does not make sense to me as I had to make urgent payment to my credit card failing which I will have to pay 3.5% penalty ..if my credit card charge me extra 3.5% will HDFC Bank re-emberse me? HDFC Bank customer service does not exist on first working day of the week which is Monday! HDFC has become shameless bank..

    HDFC guys called me up for personal loan,that time i was in need..i asked them for all papers and requirements,the agent (named SULEKHA) was ready to sanction the loan.Initially she was ready with 15% interest rate,I said ok.,and she asked for some 4 papers which i had.when they knew about my urgency,first of all they increased the interest rate to 16%(its variable like their promises).AS i was in gr8 need ,so i was ok with it..i submitted all papers as told by them,Sulekha said these r suficient and we will sanction ur loan in 4 days.Wen i dint get any call from them ,i gave a call..her response was very careless,she was asking for more documents,again i managed those documents.
    Again they increased the interest rate to 16.5%(wat the hell was tat),somehow i said ok....she took 1.5 months n still they r asking for diff type of documents,,,the only doc left is i guess my birth certi n marriage certi.... which i hav nt submitted..my loan is nt sanctioned yet...
    Please guys dn rely on hdfc,they r nt ready to return my documents even.
    n ya if u get ny call frm SULEKHA,please take care of it....

    Default Current Account Opening Delay!

    branch: Perambur, Chennai.

    Dear Sir,

    I have been contacted by your sales Executive Mr. Karthikayen he tried to market us the EDC Machine for our computer showroom along with a current account.

    by 30th October i have given him my personal check for Rs. 11000 & photo copies of documents and he promised the account will be opened in two days( account number will be informed by him either thorough phone or in person) and EDC machine will be installed in 5 working days.

    three days later he came and said they need one more cheque for 100 Rs. from existing currunt account from Allahabad bank. and i gave him one as asked.

    two days later he asked they need the cheque only form the the existing current account and and they wont accept cheques from personal account.( earlier they said its not a issue).

    i talked over phone to his marketing manager over this issue and delay in creating the account she said just give a cheque from existing current account and every thing will be done with in three days as the verification and processing was already over for the EDC machine.


    on 08th November 2010 i canceled those two cheques and gave him a new cheque for Rs. 11000 form the existing current account.


    after three days i been trying to call Mr. Karthikeyan he is not picking up my call. one day i tried to call him from other number and he picked up the call and when i enquired about the account opening he said.

    " I'm very busy and don't call me "

    and cut the call abruptly.

    i was shocked with such a rude behavior, so i tried to call his marketing manger but no avail.


    on 19th november 2010 they came to fix the EDC machine from HDFC which i asked them not to install the machint without the current account being opened.( as can't withdraw swiped money without any account details).

    the next day i went to the Perambur branch and i met with their marketing team leader, he said the Mr. Karthikeyan has left the job and your account must have been opened .

    frustrated i came back to my office to find my staff had received the welcome kit. while i was in the bank( ie on midday 20th November 2010). I called the team manager and told him i got the welcome kit and ask your people come and fix the EDC Machine., he said they will come only after Monday. and as i inquired why there have been no debit card in the welcome kit ( which was promised that debit card will be provided in the welcome kit), he said i have to fill up another form which will be processed and i will debit card in two weeks.

    till now i don't get the debit card form or the EDC Machine.

    i have five Questions

    1. If Mr. Karthikeyan quit the job will HDFC shut down all activities as HDFC his fully dependent on one Mr. Karthikeyan and has no other staff to take over his duties.?

    2. Do HDFC has no responsible Employees or HDFC by itself has no responsibilities over the promises given to its customers?

    3. If the customer does the same thing ie. doesn't pay or fulfill his financial obligation on time wouldn't HDFC charge any late payment fee or any fine of such kind?

    4. If your staff says that he is busy and dont call back does it mean that i don't have any other job?

    5. Do your field staff really have the product knowledge and procedures involved?

    ALL the staff i talked in HDFC over this issue don't even apologize and speak like not maintaining time and promises are part and parcel of HDFC and there is no need to be guilty conscious.
