Hi,
I had HDFC credit card which expired on May 2006 (four years back). I neither apply for new card nor received a new renewed card from HDFC Bank.
But, on 11-Jul-2006, I have received a transaction slip against the "new" credit card, with nearly its maximum limit as the due amount.
I called the call center and informed this and take as compliant. They informed that the legal department will take care of this issue. But till today (26-Feb-2010) I am just getting call from different call center representative stating that I am liable of the due amount. This impacting me a lot.
I didn't involved to those transactions. My side the problems are,
1) I didn't made a police compliant immediately.
2) I didn't deactivate the card and missed informing bank, not to issue new card once it expired.
But I am ready to give my full cooperation to the bank regarding this issue.
Now how to speed up the bank's investigation process, and get out of this issue.
Kindly suggest me What I need to do as I am not clear.
Please help me.
