My wife tried to get 25000 out of HDFC Bank ATM located at Munirka Market. Machine showed connection error, she tried one more time and checked with guard to confirm if Machine was working fine. Guard at this said machine confirmed that the machine is having some problem and may be cash not available as some other customers also faced issue as he said.
My wife called me from the ATM location and described the situation. Then she moved out of machine. After few minutes I got the message from HDFC bank that 20000 was withdrawn from the account. I called back to confirm if she tried some other ATM Machine but this was not the case.
I called up and wrote to HDFC bank, they logged the complaints, complaint no f012600138(by email) and 33845005(phone banking), today 8th FEB 2010 I was informed by Bank that it was a withdrawl and not any sort of malfunctioning or fraud.
Now I stand no where as I lost my money and bank says it was a withdrawl. I really failed to imaging how an ATM machine can return 20000 in against of request for 25000 if I assume the transaction was successfull, where in the fist place itself it showed the error in connection.
Please help me on this issue. This is really not accetable that no one from the Bank tries to see the issue and simply clearing the matter.
