Sub: Central Government Interest Subsidy Scheme for Economically Weaker Sections
Dear Sir,
I had taken a loan of Rs 3.40 lakhs under the “Central Government Interest Subsidy Scheme for Economically Weaker Sections” from the Srinagar Garhwal Branch of Allahabad Bank for pursuing PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management), the duration of which was July 2009 to May 2011. I had taken the loan in two parts – Rs. 1.90 lkh in 2009 (during my first semester) and Rs. 1.50 lakh in 2010.
I got a job with the New Delhi-based Office of the Resident Commissioner, Govt. of West Bengal in December 2011, ie. seven months after the completion of the course.
Sir, my father’s annual income is less than Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Given the fact that he is the only earning member in our family, with no other source of income, I come in the slab of economically weaker section students as defined by the “Central Government Interest Subsidy Scheme for Economically Weaker Sections”. Therefore, as per the said scheme, the interest period on the loan taken by me is to be started from December 2011.
However, to my surprise, the said branch of the Allahabad Bank is declining to extend the stipulated benefit to me. It claims that it is unable to extend the benefit as my application has reached its office late.
I humbly appeal to your good self to ensure that I can avail the benefits and facilities that I am entitled to under the scheme.
Please find attached a copy of the letter sent to me by the said branch of Allahabad Bank, in which it explains its inability to extend the benefit to me.
With sincere regards
