Dear Sir,

I am Anirudh Muchhal, a resident of Andheri (E), Mumbai. I subscribed to the magazine - Money Today, a personal finance magazine by India Today Group, on 22 April 2009.

On May 11, I wrote to them about my subscription status and from when shall I receive the magazine. Till a month they were unable to find my subscription id with them and were unable to start the subscription. They required my scanned copy of the credit card bill to determine whether such a payment was made or not.

On May 29, I got a e-mail from them stating that my subscription has commenced w.e.f. issue dated 25.06.09 to be valid till 10.06.10 against my subscription number MONTD1875077. The magazine till that point in time was fortnightly.

After receiving the first issue of the magazine, the problem began. I did not receive the second issue dated 09/07/09. I reported the missed issue to them immediately on phone and online on July 03. Till July 13, I did not receive any reply from them and hence wrote them a mail stating my problems and also that one more issue of magazine had been in the stands and is not delivered to me till date (issue of 23/07/09) and if the problem cannot be resolved then please repay me the subscription price.

I was happy to get a quick response from them on July 15 stating they were sorry for the delay and I shall get the missed issues within 3 days, which I did get. It gave me the confidence that this just might be a small glitch in their operations.

On July 30, to my dismay, they again missed the next issue dated 06.08.09, I was furious with them and wrote them a detailed mail stating my anger and asking for a refund from them. I did not get a quick response this time.

On Aug 4, they mailed me stating that the magazine has become a monthly magazine and I should get my issues in the last week of every month. They extended my expiry date as the number of issues committed to me remained the same.

On Aug 5, I got a reply from them stating that they have forwarded my complaint to their "Mumbai" office and have strictly instructed them to ensure a regular and timely delivery of the magazine onwards and also said that they shall keep a constant touch with them to ensure a regular and timely delivery of the magazines from now onwards. Also to compensate for the late delivery of the magazines from the issue dated 09.07.09 till the issue dated 06.08.09, we have extended my subscription by 03 issues. They confirmed that my subscription is now valid till the issue dated 17.10.2010. (I am sure this should have been 2011 since the magazine has become monthly from fortnightly)

Today being September 03, I have again not recd. the latest issue of the magazine and I have already reported the same to them.

I believe that on doing a subscription, there would be no need to follow up with the company for issues and also that I would have peace of mind and not to go and purchase the magazine from a vendor every month.

As it is evident, nothing of this happened. I am running after the company and asking them to provide me with the issue on time. Delayed issues are ultimately of no use, since the information becomes old. I want to get my money back for the subscription and also want some compensation for the trouble I had to undergo and for peace of mind.

Please help me with the same and advice me what should I do.
