    Angry Fake Products/Refund Pending - Fashion and You

    I placed an order for BlackBerry Storm 9530 vide order no. 1330775 as follows:

    20N140078453It is really disappointing to find that I was sent a used phone when nothing like that was mentioned on the website.

    The problems with the order are far too many and I would to like to mention them all here:

    1) The box was not hologram sealed and the condition of the box was very bad.
    2) The handset was wrapped in cotton.
    3) The data cable and charger were already used and were not sealed in a poly-bag as they should have been.
    4) There was an additional supplement of "The Week" lying inside the box.
    5) Talking of the handset, there was no screen guard or any other protection paper over it.
    6) The screen was shorter in size and seemed to have been replaced. It was moving in its place and was not stable.
    7) The contacts of the battery were already scratched showing it had been used earlier.
    8) There were scratches on the handset at many places.
    9) On switching on the handset, there was wallpaper of a guy who had used it sometime in the past.
    10) There were huge no. of calls in the call register.
    11) There were messages lying inside the phone and the first one dating back to 01.04.2010 which goes back to almost 2 yrs.
    12) The calendar was filled with birthdays and appointments.
    13) The cell phone even seemed to have been repaired earlier since the screw was tampered and covered with sticker to avoid being detected.

    14) The most important thing being it was not possible to make calls which is the basic requirement of a mobile phone. There was some problem with outgoing voice. The other person was not able to hear you.

    If this is not enough, the box even contained the bill of the previous buyer from Chandigarh who bought the mobile phone from 'Fashion and You' on 24 Nov' 2011 (vide order no. 1120472) as well as the return details. That buyer would have of-course sent back the handset after finding same problems with it.

    The issues mentioned above are something not acceptable at all. The mobile is being circulated from one buyer to the other since 2 years and 'Fashion and You' doesn't even mention on their website that the handset is used. This is sheer harassment to the consumer and every buyer is being bluffed. Also, as per FNY terms and policy, every product is passed in quality tests and then only dispatched to the consumer.

    Does that mean:
    1) either the tests are never performed and the quality seals pasted are all fake?
    2) or the quality standards are so poor that the mobile was passed even after such large no. of problems?


    How can a mobile wrapped in cotton, with problems in outgoing voice, used so many times, repaired and along with a supplement magazine be passed by 'Fashion and You' in their quality checks? This certainly cannot adhere to the terms and conditions of the website. This also raises a big question on quality and standard of so many other products being offered by the website for online purchase. There must be a check on such activities because this is a wastage of time and resources on the consumers' part along with causing mental harassment to him/her.


    I have returned the product on 18.01.12 via DTDC CN No. Z53409198 and has been delivered to Fashion and You on 19.01.12. I have been calling the website daily to confirm the status of return parcel but as on today i.e. 01.02.12, there is no detail with them. I talked to Ms. Ritu 3-4 times and today i again had a conversation with Mr. Chitranshu Awasthi but the answer from every customer care person is the same that i should wait for 2-3 days, they are updating the records. What the hell is Fashion and You upto?????


    A product has been delivered to these guys since 19 January 2012 and till 01 Feb 2012 they don't know the status??? Do they need years to update their records???????

    Glad to have finally got a resolution in the case. Would wait for the refund within 72 hrs and all other vouchers as per timelines.

    I've received the amount of 6999 as well as store credit. Also got a call from the customer care informing the same thing.
