I’m Sudhakar from Chennai. I would like to bring an online cheating/fraud to your notice.

I’ve placed an order for “FRONTECH 5.1 Home Theater with Remote - 5080w” for Rs.3560 (order No:111780412) through Indiatimes Online shopping. Then for shipment of the ordered product, it took 10days (after making several calls, finally on 17.08.2009). But till 21st of Aug I haven’t received the product. Again I called the Indiatimes customer cell, and told them that “I’ve been irritated by this order, if I’m not getting a proper reply on 24th Aug I’ll be taking Legal actions”.

Finally on 24th Aug I’ve received a product which I’ve not ordered for.

Actually I’ve ordered for FRONTECH 5.1 Home Theater with Remote - 5080w for Rs.3560. But the product which I’ve received is FRONTECH FM / Home Theatre - 4.1 Ch - 2280w (model- JIL 1867) which is only Rs.2760. I’ve not been informed about this change of product earlier. My order is very clear there is no chance of interchanging these two items unless it is done purposefully. So this is absolutely a cheating. I’ve again contacted the customer cell they are simply saying to send back the received product to them. I’ve asked them to send the product which I’ve ordered for and to collect this received item at the time of delivery. i'm not getting any responce from them. they are Simply disconnecting the calls and not replying to emails also.

I've been cheated by Indiatimes online shopping. Please help me to get the ordered product or refund with compensation for this online fraud from indiatimes.

This is not a new case, we are receiving many complaints against india times.

Have you registered your complaint with the customer care ?? If so then kindly provide us the details, so that we can guide you accordingly.

I’ve contacted customer cell several time. My order number is 111780412. Complaint no is 1209280.

They didn’t give me any valuable reason for this wrong delivery. They are also not ready to deliver the ordered product to me the reason they are giving for this that their supplier can’t send 5.1 home theaters to other states. They are insisting me for resending the wrongly delivered items. Without my confirmation, simply they are sending courier persons to my house for taking the product back. I’m not finding any professionalism in indiatime’s approach. I’ve replied them that without receiving the ordered or same quality of product or at lest full refund of money I’ll not send the received item back.

Even though this is not new case for you, this is first time I’m facing such a frauds/ cheaters. So please help me to get it resolved.

Hello Everyone,

I am Manivannan Mohankumar from Chennai. I placed an order on June last week for a Blackberry Mobile (Basic Model). Two days later, I called AVA team and asked for the update. They revert saying due to unavailability of the model, wants me to upgrade the model. I said OK go for it. Paid additional amount through CC. After a week, when I called and asked for the update, they said application is corrupted and there is no data, will take minimum 3-4 weeks to resolve the issue. I was shocked, not sure what's happening because I paid 15K in one shot through CC. Meantime, I bought Nokia E63 in Mobile Store, Chennai last month and thought of cancelling the AVA order.

The worst part is no one in the team is ready to cancel the order and refund the amount. I fought with them like anything. Whenever I call AVA and file a compliant. I get a message saying "Your compliant no..... DD/MM/YYYY". I called them for more than 30 times and asked for cancellation and refund. Finally, one guy agreed to refund the amount. I was happy at that point of time.

But the very next day, they have despatched the Blackberry mobile and asked me to accept the parcel. Courier man is not willing to take it back. He forced me to sign the sheet. On the same day, I called them and updated the status; they said there is no option and you have use the mobile.

Now, proper action needs to be taken against AVA group. Can anyone guide me?. 15K is wasted.

Dear All,

To get any solution for your complaint kindly send a complaint letter to the Head Office of the Co. Send it through registered post and keep a copy of that letter also. Hope you will get any positive response from there.

1. i am a major serving in the army.I had ordered a couple of items online at indiatimesshopping.com.the order dates back to 25 Aug 2009.

2. when i recieved some items from indiatimes.com, they were of wrong pattern, ie not corresponding to the items advertised, i called up their customer care number immediately on receipt and then put a complaint regarding the item, number of the same was 1234703, call was attended by some Mr Manoj on 14 sept 09.

3. They told me that they will arrange a reverse pickup, which was carried out as per their formalities on 21 sept 09 and the number for order cancellation is 1244992.apart from this they had also not delivered certain items because of non-availability of stores with merchants , which they said will be refunding through gift certificates for which i am still waiting.

4. after that i was told that i will be contacted by indiatimes guys for repayment,.

5. which has not happened till date and my money is blocked and the uncertainity has made me spend lot of money on calling their numbers.

6. Finally, when i checked online , I found many people suffering like this.

7. recently, all their customer care numbers also stopped functioning.has the company packed up.

8. i had asked them for their Headquarters address which they didnot provide me with..
request advise me the next course of action.

Dear Sir, I have placed order for Kitchen Nicer Dicer for 499+85 Shipping charges on 10 Nov09.vide order No 112034451 sub order No 2711793. The article was received by me on 19 Nov09 in dammaged condition. I have made the complaint No 25738. India time has suggested to return the Item to Stylish Gift Bombay through TNT Courier ,who will collect the Item from my residence. But TNT has refused to collect the same as his collection point is not at Bareilly. I have again contected India times,they have suggested to send through another courier and courier charges will be refunded by them.I have returned the item vide First Flight courier Way bill Number W42283165 dated 24 Nov09 by paying charges for Rs 212.32. The scanned copy of receipt has been sent vide E mail dated 27 Nov09. The article was again received in dammaged condition. They have again suggested to return it. But I was not in a position to pack and book again I have made the request to refund the courier charges. Several E mails and Phone are made but they are not refunding the courier charges. Neither giving reply to my E mails. A sum of Rs 250/-has been made by me making STD Calls to their Phones.

Thanks to Consumer court. After registering the complaint on this page , a Senior Officer of India time contected me and arranged the refund of Rs 212/- which I have received in the shape of DD of HDFC Bank on this day.

I purchased a sony cybershot s930 and adidas man back pack combinly of rs 6839. and my order number was 112123007.i orderd this on 3 january 2010. and made an online payment by my debit card.my order was aproved but after some days it was cancelled by india times due non shipment area. and as per there records they refunded my money on 8 january 2010 for one product and for the other product on 13th january 2010.but still i havent recived my money back. i contacted my bank even they told me that it has not been refunded and i lodged a complaint to inditime about this.they asked my bank statement as a proof i sent them a softcopy of that. and now its more than 1.5 months i havent recived my money. and every time they make lame excuses about this. i had word with there employes prem kumar, alok and many more they never resolved my problem

Have you registered your complaint with their customer care, and if you have already registered your complaint with Indiatimes customer care and in case you are not satisfied then send a written notice to the CMD of Indiatimes via registered post ( Keep one copy with you ) and ask them for the proper solution accordingly within the mention time in the Notice.

Cheating by India times Shopping

Dear Sir,
I have placed order via Chennai readers offer for e phone for Rs. 4999/- + 200/- Shipping charges on 30th March10 .vide order No 112280455 sub order No 2996177. The article was received by me on 4th April10 in damaged condition. I have made the complaint and received the cancellation no. 218831. India time has suggested to return the Item through TNT Courier , and the same has been returned and received by them on 12th April 10, the docket no being DO 647 554 176 WW I have again contected India times, regarding the receipt of the article by their end, since then they are just informing that we will receive the calls for the details of demand draft and that the money will be refunded within 2 days but we are yet to be received the call from the company. A sum of Rs 250/-has been made by me making STD Calls to their Phones. Today i spoke to the customer care executive Vikas, and he replied in a very rude manner, either to wait for thecall for more 1 week or can take any other step (consumer court) it makes no difference to them.

Request you to please provide some guidelines as at present we have already lost our money we paid for the product and neither we have the product with us.

Can you please provide us the mail address of the CMD to send them written complaint via registered post.

Hi, My name is kishore. Mobile number 9886626313.I had placed an order for Nikon Cool Pix L100 with times internet limited( The advertisement comes on Times of India Newspaper everyday). I was told that I will be getting a the product with in a week's time. However I have not received the product, other than that anytime I call them up I receive an update saying that I will be receiving the product with in 2days.This looks like a not so trustworthy source to by any product any help from anyone will be highly appreciated.
