    Angry Letsbuy - Blackberry playbook issues

    The Geeks amongs us know of the great year end offer by Blackberry on thier playbooks wherethe prices were slashed by Half. this was for a period of 3 days which was extended by 4 more days. I was very happy to see that there was a priticular model "in-stock" at Letsbuy.com. I instantly booked one through my credit card and upon confirmation of the order was a very contended e-commerce appreciative guy. (order no. LSB 753120, 29th December 2011, 10:30-11:00 AM)


    i called up Letsbuy to confirm the time of receipt when the next day, my status still showed "in progress". i was told that my order wes under process and i would get my playbook in the requisite 3-5 working days.

    I followed up a couple of times after that and was assured that i would get my playbook in time.

    on 3rd jan- day 6 of my order, i get a mail from Letsbuy stating a delay in my order, because of "product selling like hot cakes". Shoddy. How can a product that is bought on an instock status and a confirmed order placed by credit card be handled in such a manner. i asked the policy of letsbuy in such a scenario to the callcentre guy and came to know of the no-liability clause......i am sure i can contest that one and Letsbuy would not even stand a single hearing in the consumer court, but what pains me most is that i was an advocate of on-line purchases and have been on e-bay since its bazee.com days. howevercompanies like Letsbuy really have shattered my perception of fair trade. my colleagues had gone the traditional way and bought the playbook from retail stores, cheaper and earlier than what i had bargained for. today the call centre guys at Letsbuy (dont blame them for giving thereotically correct but practically useless answers) tell me that my order is on indefinite hold.

    can letsbuy do what it did- oversell and commit an order for a product that it did not have. Letsbuy you are dissapointing.
