Harrassment by nbcindia.com online bookseller Dear Sir,
My name is Pothik Ghosh and I write this message to formally complain about the gross inefficiency verging on fraud of New Delhi-based online bookseller www.nbcindia. com. On August 4, 2009, I had placed an order for a book titled Sociology of Religions: Perspectives of Ali Shariati on the nbcindia website. I had also paid the requisite amount Rs. 367.35 by my credit card and was assigned the order number 79721. The website promised to deliver the book within three-to-four days. When I did not get an e-mail, as is normally the case in online shopping, confirming my order and did not consequently receive the book withi the stipulated time, I tried calling them on the two numbers listed on their 'Contact Us' section of their website. One of the phones kept ringing with nobody answering while the other was permanently busy. I, therefore, shot off an anxious e-mail to which I received a call from nbcindia.com informing me that the book was not available with its publisher and they were trying with other vendors and would either deliver the book by August 10 or 11. The nbcindia.com caller also promised that in case they were not able to provide me the book by the promised dates they would refund my money. To my query as to why one of their phones remained unattended while the other was perpetually busy he said that one of the two phones was out of order and therefore there was enormous pressure on the other. Unfortunately, till date the company has neither delivered the book nor returned my money. And all phone calls have gone unanswered. In fact, I feel that they have been deliberately not taking calls as all my calls on the phone, which according to the nbcindia.com executive is functional, have been disconnected as the ringing at their end eash time I have called the number has been abruptly disrupted. My frantic, even angry, e-mails asking them to inform me about the exact status of my order or return my money have either gone unanswered or have been replied with a senseless "we will soon get back to you". Please do the needful so that my problem may be redressed as soon as possible.

Hi.. I too had the same experience and the book that i ordered costed me Rs.1488 and the order number is 115366. Neither i got my book dispatched yet nor any response from them. I too tried to reach out to them on their contact phones all of which are unaddressed. With a hope of consumer court addressing these issues at the earliest... and punishing these ecommerce site owners...

Same experience for me also and the book that i ordered costed me Rs.4165 and the order number is NBC1911639747.I have ordered it on jan 19th and made the payment through SBI net banking.Tried many times through phone but only once someone picked up and told that the book will be available in the market only on May 1st(it was shown in their website as available).then i told them to refund the money..they told that they will be refunding the amount within 3 days..after that no response from their side..no reply for my calls/mails????? With a hope of consumer court addressing these issues at the earliest... and punishing these ecommerce site owners.Plz take some action..

I had made transaction for taking part in following Contest : Apple Iphone 4S on 100bestbuy.com
It has been a more than a month since I had made a payment, it seems the contest has been over with. It is promised that the money will get refunded in 45 days if your name is not selected. I have dropped and email on info@100bestbuy.com and also tried to call their customer care number: 08088211777, but I was unable to reach the customer care. I have tried to reach out to customer care, but to no avail.

I think the company has cheated many number of customers by such modes operandi: they send you a link which has details about the contest and the customers get fooled by such inciting offers.. I want my money back.
