I made an online payment for a gift purchase on rediff.com on friday 3rd july 2009 through HDFC netbanking. the money was debited from my account on 3rd july 2009 and was not credited to the rediff account till 6th July late afternoon. which caused a delay in my gift dispatch. payment ref no: 703224128 as shown in my account I have logged a complaint at the HDFC customer care: ref DEL089502 since It is an online transaction and I got a msg on the screen showing transaction successful; I was unable to understand the reason for the delay. rediff order number: 5459976
DamageOccured The gift that I purchased through rediff is for my Father's birthday on 11th July. because of the delay from HDFC the payment got delayed and the gift might not reach him on the specified date. I had to waste 4-5hrs on monday 6th continuously calling HDFC and rediff customer care. Rediff: they confirmed that they are waiting for a bank approval, and my order status also showed the same. HDFC: I called them, they confirmed that it was not a problem from their end, but refused to give the same in writing. I wrote 2-3 emails, which have not been replied as yet. I got a call from a HDFC executive on 6th July late afternoon asking me if the payment made on 3rd July was a valid one, and sometime after that the payment was made to rediff. after which the order was processed
Required Relief I need an explanation for the delay in payment processing from HDFC or rediff whoever is responsible for the same. I had to waste a lot of money in calling both rediff and HDFC customer care on 6th July,which is to be compensated. If the gift does not get delivered on the specified date (11th July); then it is as good as useless.
