    Default No refund from last one month

    Sir,

    I had a bad experience with makemytrip.com. Please assist me because now i'm getting a feeling that all the inconvenience to the customers is not a 'one odd case' but the company's intentional attitude.

    I am Customs Officer Sameer Soangra, serving in Indian Customs. Reference is made to booking Id NN251611330444. I have the following to say:

    1. Flight booking was done on 30 Aug 10 for Egypt Airline flight from Mumbai to Tripoli for 02 (two) passengers (One Adult & an infant) for the travel on 07 Oct 10.

    2. I received an email from Makemytrip regarding the conformation of same which is still saved on my e-mail.

    3. This was a connecting flight for the pax as they were moving from Cairo to Tripoli. Travel from Mumbai to Cairo and onward to Tripoli was from Egypt Airline only. Also, I want to bring out this to your notice that
    the pax were moving to visit family in Tripoli (Libya) from Mumbai to Tripoli along with an infant less than a year old with about 50 kgs of luggage.

    4. After reaching Mumbai, I was told by the Check-in Counter that there is no return booking for either of the passengers and said that Make My trip was bound to inform the passengers for making return ticket if they are going on visit visa. On contacting your staff on customer care number, same was told by your executive and i was told that my money of the amount Rs. 13,331/- will be refunded to me in next 48 hours instead of Rs. 21,231/- which occured at time of booking. Deduction of US $ 170 as cancellation charges is not justifiable at not fault of ours.

    5. I was stuck in helpless situation as no flights were available for that day. There is no one in Mumbai who is known to me. In such a critical situation, I was running around from one terminal to another, requesting( rather literally begging) from one window to another, along with my sister in law (the pax), my 1 year old infact niece and 50 Kgs of luggage. Moreover, I was also not having much cash with me at that point of time.

    6. From that day onwards. I have been calling regularly for my refund.


    7. In regard to my case, I have the following demands:

    (I) Refund of Rs 21,231/- WITH INTEREST OF 12%.

    (II) Compensation of Rs 50,000/- for the Mental Harassment and agony that me , my family and my 1 year old infant niece have gone through because of your company apart from the financial turbulence caused. Also, not informing and awaring the passengers of getting a return ticket on Visit Visa.

    8. This is for your information and necessary action.

    9. If the above demands are not fulfilled within 24 hours, i'm set to file complaint in Consumer Court.

    Default refund amount not received

    This is Jayabalan A. I had booked a flight ticket from trivandrum to chennai for 24th Aug 2010. The same ticket was cancelled on 23rd Aug. And while cancelling the ticket after subtracting the cancellation fee and make my trip charges, a refund amount of 6837 was commited. I have also got a mail from Make my trip confirming the same. Then when i checked my account i had received a amount of 1967. From then on I have called make my trip customer care more than 7 times and every time i get to hear that "It was a mistake from our side, problem with the application, we wwill send a mail to the concerned department and the refund will be credited in 4-5 business days. And i get one reference number for the same. But nothing happpens i will land up calling the next time to heaar the same. When i ask for a supervisor, i only get to hear that we dont have any superviosr on floor? Is this how a customer has to be treated?
    Does the customer have to wait for 90 days to get his refund back?does ur application has error for 90 days?Every time the customer service person says that he is escalting this case for refund, so whats happening to those escalations?Why should the customer pay the interest for the amount that is pending because of your application or system issues?

    Its sad to see such a response from Make my trip. Hope some one will look into this

    Default No refund for failed transactions through makemytrip.com

    Unfortunately I was trying to book a flight ticket from Port Blair to Chennai on 12th October2010 through makemytrip.com.The first transaction failed and the site indicated that payment was not successfull.So I proceeded to book again and It was successfull.On verifying my bank statement I found that for the failed transaction also they debited my account.I complained through mail more than 10 times ,spoke to more than 10 Customer Service guys at different occassion.The standars answer is within 24 or 48 or 72 hr refund will be made.A guy named reza demanded bank statement that too converted into pdf format.Even I did that,then again i was told the statement is not clear.Then when i told them im not going to send anything u verify from yr records they said within 72 hrs refund will b made.A guy called tahir and javed told yr status shows "refund".Sagar n Mohit sharma told me they have re-initaited correspondence with the payment gateway.Kajal devi gave a lecture on the standard of services offered and assured within 5 working days refund will b made..Then again a guy said makemytrip didnt receive money its held up with payment gateway.Why should I be bothered with the gateway? The gateway dealings r makemytrips headache and they charge us for that.Now I want to know how to proceed legally,whether to go to consumer court,cybercrime wing or RBI for intimating them of unfair practice in online trading.I guess RTi wud also be a tool .I can ask the Bank to whom the payment was made and for what service? Makemytrip doesnt even have any indicators for failed transactions in iuts web site.The Customer service is rotten n the only reply they give is 72 hrs.....solution.Last day I called on Mohit Sharma n he said our travel specialist will call u.I told him to r lying to get me drop the call.Its more than 3 days there was no call.I guess makemytrip is deliberately holding the funds of customers so that by delaying the refunds they can hold on buffer capital illegally.I guess under cybercrime theres provision of penalty up to 1 crores ..Anyone can check this call makemytrip n say u r rajesh chandra n u booked yr trip on 12th Oct.yr email is rajeshchandra999@gmail.com n phone no is 9434289181 n ask abt the refund.they will say 72 hours!!!!! to refund

    Default False Marketing Tactics

    Just wanted to point out their devious marketing tactics that proves it isn't a very trustworthy company.

    They currently have a "Buy 1 get 1 free deal on all domestic flights"
    If you read the description of the offer or the fine print you will realize that they will only reimburse you for the base fare and that too only a maximum of Rs. 1000 on your next ticket. This basically means if you purchase a flight for Rs. 4000, your next ticket (supposedly free) will still cost you Rs. 3000. If you paid Rs. 7000 for a ticket, your next would be Rs. 6000 and so on. How are they allowed to post banners of "Buy 1 get 1 free" ?

    Angry Makemytrip not refunding my money since two months

    I attempted to book a ticket from Mumbai to Bhopal on 20th September with the following details:

    citi bank reference: MAKE MY TRIP Ref: 026315050928


    This ticket could not be booked but the money was debited from my account .


    The reference provided by Citibank for this transaction are:

    trace no: 002221 and 002240
    transaction no: 5601194593091009.



    Since Sep 20th I have made several attempts to get the refund but i am not getting any response from makemytrip team.

    I have spoken to Anshul/Ankit/Sankhya/shanky handa and 2-3 more agents but with no avail.

    All the agents promise to call back or reply but no one cares to do the same.

    Please note my worst experience with makemytrip.com as follows.

    I have recently purchased a round trip air ticket (Mumbai – Kolkata) on 8th December 2010, Wednesday from makemytrip.com. Booking ID is NF251212022062. I have done the payment by my debit card.

    Though I have filled up the booking form with correct required details, I received tickets with different name. Immediately I contacted makemytrip.com office. Their official person assured me the correction within 24 hours. Dejectedly even now after 5 days there is no response from them. Hence recently I contacted them once again and to my surprise this time another female executive told me that makemytrip.com is not responsible for this blunder. Although she acknowledged that the system is facing some technical issues but nothing can be done for this goof-up. Moreover I was really shocked when I she told me that now correction in name can be done at the cost of Rs. 2000, which obviously should be bared from my side (customer side).

    Finally I had no options but to spend more 2000 rupees to save my travel.

    This is clear cheating case. My sincere request to all of you is to share this with all your friends & known ones. So they can not be a part of such cheating incidence. I have barred more amounts to keep my travel, but let’s make sure no one else end up with the same story.

    I am attaching all the mail chain and relevant documents for your all reference.

    Please don’t use makemytrip.com and be the judge - yourself on this case!

    I am still wondering whether it was my mistake to keep trust on makemytrip.com

    Default ticket cost not refunded by make my trip

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I had made an airticket booking from New Delhi to Varanasi on 24 October 2010 using makemytrip.com. The booking Id is NF251341323257. There was some technical error on makemytrip.com's side and they could not issue me with the ticket , however the money was charged on my credit card. This card has been issued by my company where I am employed and I am allowed to use it only for official purposes. I got an sms showing that the same would be refunded in 2 working days time.

    I have repeatedly called up customer care and talked to different executives who promise that the refund would be made in 48 to 72 hours, that they have escalated the matter in the accounts department and are sorry for the delay but I am yet to get any refund.I have repeatedly reminded them that it being my corporate credit card, I am being questioned by my company on the amount spent and the refund has to get reflected on the statement soon. On 3 Janauary 2011, I talked to one Mr Girish Bhatt who promised to look into the matter and give me a call back in 24 hours, so far i am yet to receive any call from any one.

    I not only want my full refund of the ticket cost including insurance (since it was not cancelled from my side) but also compensation for the money that has been blocked for 75 days and the mental agony that I am now facing.

    Makemytrip.com has acted in the most unethical manner by charging for a ticket that they could not issue and then delaying the refund by nearly 75 days. They do not have any scruples in asking the client to wait for 2-3 days then never take any action or revert back to the client.

    After this harrowing experience, I would request all those trying to book tickets through makemytrip.com have second thoughts. It is one of the most useless company that i have come across in recent times.

    Angry Make my trip unethical practices- no money refund- toll free numbers unassistable .

    This travel portal is using malpractices after getting the payment from the customer who has been given partial information for a promotional venture called the Great Indian Festival Offer.
    On repeated e- mail correspondence where their discussion thread Response gives a fictitious name (Suresh menon) A letter is send off to the complainant and the matter is forgotten as as the travel agency is concerned. Their only inbound telepphone no. is constantly blocked after connecting , and the customer incurrs charges while waiting on line for assistance, ( a never seen practise)
    The matter is with the accounts dept from the last two months and they are evading the issue of the reversal of the money given by me by credir card. My bank acc. no and relevent details have been mailed to them on #rd Dec2010. I am entitled to the progress of the matter and there is only harrasment and secrecy and nothing more.
    Please set right the routine of how I can approach the Accounts Dept by phone or e-mail, since all this hiding behindthe" so-called executive-busy phone lines" is getting to my health.

    Default Payment made twice without a ticket

    Respected Sir,
    This is me Suraj Chandra Pradhan. I was in the process in booking the ticket from Chenni to Bagdogra in Spicejet SG323 schedule departure at 11.05 hrs on 15.1.11 for three persons from your site at around 8.30 pm on 10.1.11. total costing Rs.17784.00. Your site has advise me to "pay" the said amount and accordingly I have press the pay button. The mode of payment is through debit card. After pressing the pay button the sight shown "Cannot find the server". By seeing this I Press the refresh button. Nothing has came out. After that I have checked my email id "pradhanravang@yahoo.co.in" but no massage is send from your sight. Nither any massage is send to my mobile no. 9593988388 which was given at the time of booking the flight as desired by you.
    After waiting for another half an hour I thought booking has not done I again log in your sight and apply for booking in the same airlines for three passangers for the same date i.e. 15.1.11 from Chennai to Bagdogra again. Everything was right and the same fair for three passangers amounting to Rs. 17784.00 was advise to "pay" by pressing the pay botton by your sight. Accordingly as adviced I press the pay botton. Again after pressing the pay bottom the sight again shown "cannot find the server". By seeing this I press the refresh button. Then your sight shows "your period expired look for new date and sector". By seeing this I did not choose another date becuse the cost was very high. After that I close the internate and gone to bed. In morning time I gone to ATM to check the balance. I was very much shocked to know that Total. Rs. 17784+17784=Rs.35568.00 ( Rupees Thirty Five Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Eight) only has been deducted from my debit card account by your Office without availing any tickets. So, I inquired at Spicejet Office and they told me that no booking has been done for the three passangers namely- Suraj Chandra Pradhan, Mrs. Meena Pradhan & Miss. Sikha Pradhan on thereairline on 15.1.11. They advice me to contact you. I contact you in the number given in website but they responds for cancel, new booking, timing etc.
    Your company has charged me twice for a ticket for same root without aviling a single ticket.
    So, please help me getting the ticket for what I have already paid Rs.17784.00. And you are requested to refund Rs 17784.00 on my wife debit card account which you have charged unnecessarly for booking the ticket in same airline same date in same sector and same passanger.

    Default No Refund from Makemytrip after two months of pursuing

    I booked a ticket on makemytrip on 08 nov 10. After the payment was made, the booking was unsuccessful due to some system error however the amount of Rs 7881/- was debited from my account. repeated phone calls have yielded no result. the customer care executives say that the refund has been processes and the refund reference no is IX 05048680 however the same is not reflected in my account. a bank statement as on 8 nov 10 has also been scanned and forwarded to makemytrip about a month back but the refund is yet to materialise. kindly advise. thanking you

    Thumbs down Incorrect bookings made - different from what was offered and sent originally

    Hi,

    This is to bring to everyone's notice that makemytrip.com is a Fraud. They do not make th e same bookings (Hotel & Flight) as offered by them when the tour package is presented and after you've made the payment. Worst of all later on the post sales department is not ready to accept their mistake. Details as follows-

    I had called them to provide me a package from Delhi to Goa & return on 22-Feb-2011. Their customer rep. Ms. Neha Malhotra had sent the same to my email id with the subject "Best Deal For You". Subsequent to that when I confirmed to her that the hotel and the flights provided by her in the email look good to me, She called me back So that I could have paid for the same using my credit card through the IVR service.

    A payment of 38,100 was made by me using the IVR. Thereafter I asked her to send me the payment receipts, hotel and flight's confirmed booking details. First of all the only thing that I got confirmed receipt for through email was the hotel on 22-Feb-2011, I immediately called her back and asked her to send the Flight confirmation (e-tickets) and the invoice and she assured that she will be sending the same immediately but nothing except the hotel confirmation was sent to me on 22-Feb-2011.

    Next day 23-Feb-2011, I again reminded her that I have not received the flight e-tickets till now and she again said that she will send it and took an alternative email id from. To mu surpirze when I saw the e-ticket the flights that were booked were different from the one sent to me earlier when the Tour package was presented. The return flight that was sent to me as aa part of the package tour in the email was a Goair Flight from Goa to Delhi departing at 1530 on 07-MAR-2011 and arriving Delhi at 19:15 however after the payments the e-tickets were sent for a Goair flight departing at 0650 am from Goa. Also, the same was never told me before the booking that there is a change in flight that was sent to you and the one we were booking, everything was assumed and taken for granted and sold.

    That was not at all acceptable to me in first place since that was different from what was offered and sent to me and also since I have a2.5 yrs old daughter it was going to be very inconvenient for us to catch the flight that early.

    I complaint for the same to Ms. Neha Malhotra responding to her email which had the confirmation of flight details, that this was not what you had initially presented to me and also you did not tell me about this at the time I was making the payments with you over the IVR service. I didn’t get any reply So on 24-Feb-2011 I again called Makemytrip.com and spoke to their postsales depart, someone by the name Mr. Nikhil, He said we will get call trace done and also asked me to send across the email that was originally sent to me for the package tour, which I subsequently sent to hotelservice@makemytrip.com.

    Mr. Nikhil came back after an hour saying that the call traces do not show enough evidence of what is being reported, I told him did you check those emails and his reply was No, So told him to check those emails and then give me a call. He called back saying the same thing that the call traces don’t show a evidence, again when I asked him did you check the email, He did acknowledge that he got the email but was not ready to talk anything about it.

    Anyhow when I actually convinced him hard that this not the case of a mom n pop shop its makemytrip.com and you are dealing needs to be professional, He just told me give me some more time, I will escalate the matter.

    Not hearing back from Nikhil or anyone from makemytrip.com after that, I called them back the next day, 25-Feb-2011 and found that Mr. Nikhil is on leave, So I had to start again at greound zero with another of their post sales specialist Ms. Veerpal Kaur.

    After telling the whole series of incidents again, She kept me on hold for about 20 minutes and replied back that email can not be considered as a evidence (when it was clearly evident from the email as to what was originally offered and sent to me by makemytrip.com) and the call traces that were pulled do not make things evident. First of all in the age of e-tickets / e-booking receipts a travel company that big is telling me that a email can not be treated as a proof when a major portion of their business is handled using electronic data, Right from presentation of packages in email to sending e-tickets / e-booking receipts via email, Now as per what Ms. Veerpal Kaur told me, when emails can not be treated as proofs how can they send the confirmations for e-tickets / e-booking receipts on email to customers, A big contradiction from the process they follow as a part of their business model, Just being used as excuse since they don’t want to accept their mistake.

    Need help from you so that they admit their mistake and pay me the difference of fare (Rs. 4944) and services charges levied by them Since I had to get my return flight altered as per what was originally offered and presented to me and which was not booked as is by them the first time.

    I have all the emails and e-receipts with me.

    we got a booking for kodaikanal for 22nd april, hotel was confirmed by makemytrip and then later there customer support guy called and said the booking is not confirmed yet , was offering another hotel and we told him to callback in 15 minutes after that we are calling then , and there customer support is not bothered to callback and they are not even telling us what we should do as they charged us money

    Default Amazing ladkh - shocked customer

    We were about 9 people from Bangalore including me and my wife and we all have decided and gone ahead to file criminal charges against your company for having cheated us by promising us with one thing and giving us nothing but nightmares.

    1. Day 1 nightmare: Bangalore to Delhi- On reaching Delhi we were taken aside by a driver representing your company who did not know which hotel to take us. After many phone calls to your call centre we had to direct your driver to a God forsaken hotel called as Delhi – 37 the best part about this hotel was that we had to approach our rooms by entering the kitchen to a elevator which takes us up to the 4th floor and after going through a lobby we come to a staircase which we have to walk down by four floors to reach our room which is just short of a dungeon and absolutely un hygienic. They also did not serve us any dinner in the night saying it was over and we had to go out and search for dinner at our expense.

    2. Day 2 nightmare: on reaching Leh and as your itinerary says that we would be received by your courteous and smart representative who will meet, greet and escort us to our hotel. The fact of the matter was that 6 of us were piled on to a Maruti Van with all our luggage out of the airport and the driver took us to more than 4 destinations not knowing which Hotel to put us. We had to again take the initiative to call Delhi to find out where the hotel is and it took us about 2 hours to reach our hotel. We were again in for a major surprise when we reached this eco-poplar resort which was in no way looking like a 3 star facility which was promised to us in the itinerary and your website. The other major shocking issue was reveled at this place that hot water in a freezing place like Leh would be served only for half an hour in the morning from 6.00 to 6.30 A.M and from 6.30 to 7.00 P.M in the evening. (Worst than Tihar Jail timings for a holiday that we paid for)



    3. Day 3 Nightmare: Your itinerary says this (Emergency No.: Mr. Devinder Chinwan (0911949551), Mr. Raghav Sharma(09999696444), Ms. Vaishali (09873899308) - for your information all these number were not working as all of us in our troop tried for more than a few hours to complain, finally we did complain to one Anuj Chillar at Delhi and he assured us of shifting us from the hotel to at least a 3 star facility which never happened and we were FORCED to stay at this hotel bearing all problems facing us on our holiday. Before commencing my trip I was contacted twice by Archana Sharma from Delhi to confirm our food palate and we had confirmed that we preferred Non- Vegetarian Only, to my utter horror when the list shown at the hotel we were classified as vegetarians. After paying whatever was asked for the trip to be hosted in a 3 star facility with good non-vegetarian food and good facilities we were given potatoes, cauliflower, roti’s, dal and rice everyday for dinner and bread with cornflakes or dried paranthas for breakfast. (Jailed inmates have better food than what we were served) After the breakfast when we asked for normal drinking water to be given they said that we have to buy bottled water only from them which costed 3 times more than market price (forced fleecing)

    4. Day 4, 5 and 6 went the same way even after all the assurances given to us by your Asst. Manager Kedar and local rep Stanly we had to undergo the same treatment for all these days without any help or solution in sight in a far away unknown land.

    5. Day 7 Bigger Nightmare: We were told on the 7th day that the owner of the property one Mr. Nyamgel has sought to make amends and has arranged for a fabulous dinner and cocktails for all of us on the house. Incidentally this joker had not shown his face to any of us in spite of repeated pleas to his staff. As we all sat for dinner that night one of the tourist lady got really annoyed on knowing that he was the owner who was evading us all these days and she gave him a mouthful, instead of calming her nerves for the mistakes they have done, this fellow started abusing her and even went to the extent of saying “Why are you staying in my place for the past so many days, I would have thrown you and your luggage out the very first day itself. When the words got out of hands offending all of us we confronted him and suggested to reimburse all our money and we will leave. We were so surprised by his behavior and also shocked when he threatened us with his goons standing around the place and since there were women and children around we quietly returned to our rooms without any dinner forget about cocktails on the house.

    6. Day 8 Horror: We were told about our tickets to Delhi only the previous night and the e tickets were given, when we found out the flight to Delhi was at 7.00AM and we had to wake up by 3.00AM and reach the Airport before 4.30A.M due to the facilities problem at the Airport. On further enquiry regarding our onward journey back to Bangalore we came across another horror to unfold when we were told that there is no hotel or any accommodation for us at Delhi where we land by 8.30 A.M and the connecting flight to Bangalore is only at 5.30P.M in the evening. When we called the Delhi office to find out they sternly told us to sit in the Airport until your flight time is up. When we booked the trip we were told that the trip starts and ends at Bangalore and nowhere was it mentioned that we had to sit for 9 hours in a airport without any food or water provided after being awake from 3.00A.M at Leh.

    Is this the way this company wants to make our holidays booked through them memorable or as the advertisement in the TV shows clearly that a person will loose all his senses that he cannot even recognize his own family once he books a trip with makemytrip

    My assessment of your company is that as per your slogan I WISHed for a good holiday after 24 years with my wife, but unfortunately I CLICKed on people like you and now I am paying the price for having GOne.
