    Red face Cheating by India today book club under free gift offer

    Hi,

    I had booked the order (order no 0GA090020218) at 'India today book club' for 20 CDs pack against free gift offer of Family Holiday home package + Air tickets.

    The parcel I received was only having 20 CD pack and the ‘Family holiday home package and air ticket are not delivered’.

    I emailed the company and they asked me to ‘visit the below mentioned bookstoday.in/promos.htm link to claim your free gifts.

    When I visited the link, I came to know that for holiday package they have put such conditions that some one decides then also he cannot availed the offer and the same thing is apply for the Air tickets.
    Also the payment Rs 800 is required for Holiday package and payment of taxes is required for Air ticket, which was not mentioned in the initial offer flyer.

    The terms & conditions they are asking me to follow for free gifts are informed me after I have accepted the delivery of 20CDs pack. Legally I am not bound to follow any of such condition.


    The free gift what they are saying is a totally misguiding to the customers.

    I have maintained copies of all communication between ‘India today book club’ and me. I am expecting my money back with harassment compensation and company to stop such cheating marketing policy.

    Hi,
    my membership no. Is itbc0944614, i had purchased holiday vouchers(item no. H1517) for rs. 5943/-. As per instructionsi dispatched voucher code request form(form no. 001244) along with original invoice on 19th june 2009.

    But till now i hvn't recd. Voucher code.

    Hello,

    Send a written notice via registered post to the CMD of the parent company about your problem, mention all the details, and ask them for the compensation you require, as they have to publish all the terms and conditions first so that customer can decide to choose or not to choose the offer.

    Note: Do not forget to keep the slip of registered post in safe, it will help you if the parent company will not solve the issue with in the mention time of 15 to 20 days.

    Default Not able to receive the Free Gift Holiday offer form IndiaToday books club

    Hi ,

    i purchased a reebok sunglasses and was said that i would receive the free holiday package. they gave me the url claim your free gifts to claim my free gift. but when i put the promotion number and email id it says Sorry ! This site is currently down for maintenance. Kindly login after 3 days.
    We regret the inconvenience caused. For any further assistance please call us at 011-40502424 .

    I am continously getting this message since last 1 month. When i called them on the number mentioned above they said that there is no other way to claim the gift.


    if any body knows how to claim this gifts please reply.

    I had booked the order (order no 0GA090006433) at 'India today book club' for 3 CDs pack against free gift offer of reebok classic watch.

    The parcel I received was only having 3 CD pack and the ‘watch was not delivered’.

    I emailed the company and they asked me to ‘visit the below mentioned bookstoday.in/promos.htm link to claim your free gifts.

    When I visited the link, which was displays this offer was closeed and the mail link was not opened


    The free gift what they are saying is a totally misguiding to the customers.

    I am expecting my money back with harassment compensation and company to stop such cheating marketing policy.

    Thumbs down Problem with India Today Book Club purchase

    I place a order on 24rth of July 09 for "4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's + Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 for Rs.499" using my CREDIT CARD and I get delivery on 14th Aug.09 after too many emails to your team (email ID: response@indiatodaybookclub.com ITBC0980260)

    But they send me a 4 MUSIC CD instead of 4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's ! PLUS NOT send me a Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 !!!

    Whey I inform them on same day of delivery, I get reply after 4 days and they tell me to send CD's back to "India Today Book Club, B-47, Indira Enclave, Neb Sarai, New Delhi- 110068." And they also said that they send me a new parcel plus paid me courier fees as soon as they get original parcel.

    And I send parcel on 22nd Aug.09 with all 4 Music CD's (in original pack condition) + Invoice Photo Copy + intimation letter + Courier receipt original copy.

    Dispatch Details:
    Courier: DTDC Courier
    Slip # A16057520
    Dispatch Date: 22nd Aug.09

    Their Delhi office people get delivery on 24th Aug.09 but they not confirm item delivery PLUS still not dispatch my original items PLUS Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600!

    I send them too many massages but NO reply (I send emails to their all email IDs : Baljeet@intoday.com; psanghhsoffice@intoday.com; RATNAM@intoday.com; malcolm.mistry@intoday.com; response@indiatodaybookclub.com; feedback@indiatodaybookclub.com for fast reply)

    And after 15 days just today I received message from "Mr.Kuldeep Singh" : We regret to inform you that the matter has been already forwarded to the concern department. The refund is currently in process and is expected to be with you within-25-30 working days. There are some internal formalities which we have to follow up to arrange your refund of Rs. 499/- so we request you to provide us this much of time to look into this matter. Hope you shall bear with us in the interim.

    Now they tell me to wait for 25-30 days! Also they not said anything about my courier charge refund !!!

    If I wait for more 30 Days that what is the guarantee that I get refund ? Also if I wait for this many days than I loose chargeback option with my credit card company already 40+ days pass...

    Its my a very very bad experience with indiatodaybookclub ....

    I also tell them that I am going to post complain against them on forums and your site but nothing! They have NO time to reply or response after payment. Only searching for new buyers...

    Very BAD...

    Hope to get my full money + courier charges return fast... OR I am going to file a consumer case against this cheater people of India Today Book Club.

    I had booked an Order through Internet on INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB. Order was booked on 6th of July 2009. Its more than 2 months I had not received any order.
    When ever I try to call their customer care number : 011 4050242 I get same answer " Due to technical failure your order details are not updated Kindly wait for 2 weeks."
    Paymet was made via Credit Card which was debited insantly after order was booked.

    Order Details : Reebok Shoes,Reebok track suit, Reebok Towel, Reebok Bag

    Its better to file a chargeback claim with your credit card company. And forget about their reply... DO not take more days otherwise your credit card company not process your chargeback claim. So, contact them as soon as possible with details.

    They are big cheater...

    this is to say that india today book club is a worst and a fraud company.due manytimes i have prdered,but non of the items reach to me.i may give all my order number-booking id 110038631 a samsung touch phone costing around 8900.have called both ,the india today and the dart mail,but no one gives a satisfactory answer,just says your order will reach.this order was made on 1st september n they say that it was released on 5th september,so were did the courier go? dart mail says that why did you order such a costly item through courier- thats non of her business.

    so i request all other customer be sure and have proof before purchase of any item from india today book club or bag it today

    Dear Sir

    It is with reference to a phone call from india today book club representative regarding a holiday package for two persons who included a free ticket for two people and a stay at three or five star hotel for three days and two nights inclusive of breakfast and dinner during next one year. In response to your said offer i applied for three packages i.e. one for my parents and other two for me, my wife and our two grown up children. Further I was told that I will get a free gift hamper which includes some books and CDs. Now i would like you to clarify on the following.

    1. I have received three sets of similar books which I have not ordered at all. These were supposed to be free gifts but these are being supplied against my order for holiday package.

    2. Further when i tried to claim my free gift as per unique number. it says the number is incorrect.

    3. I rang up to india today book club office at number 011-40502424 and I mailed on response@indiatodaybookclub.com and on odrer@indiatodaybookclub.com on 21st December 2009 and even on 25th December also. I was told that the unique number is yet not activated and will be activated in 24 hours. Further I was told that the scheme is for one person air ticket and one person holiday package.

    I was extremely surprised to hear from representative. I feel cheated.
    You are therefore requested to kindly look into the matter and give me the correct picture so that I may be able to decide on further course of action. And if it is for one person i am not interested in the package and i am ready to send back your offer. My order No. is OGA090076279 DATED 29.11.2009 AND INVOICE NO. IS ORA090073676 DATED 30.11.2009

    4. And till date I have not received any reply in response to my above quoted emails.

    Hello sir,

    I had booked a order (order no 0GA0900079496) at 'India today book club' for a holiday package for two persons who included a free return air ticket for two people and a stay at three or five star hotel for three days and two nights inclusive of breakfast and dinner during next one year.

    It is with reference to a phone call from india today book club representative who said that this is only for registered book club member and on the eve if x mas only.

    The parcel I received was only having 3 CD pack and set of worthless books which the representative said is complimentary gift.

    for claiming other gifts of air ticket and hotel accommodation they asked me to ‘visit the below mentioned bookstoday.in/promos.htm link '


    When I visited the link, it is not accepted unique number printed on invoice no.

    The free gift what they are saying is a totally misguiding to the customers. i feel cheated by the company and now wants my money back and a ban on that type of misguiding marketing policy.

    for that matter what would i do to get my money back?? i am totally confused about that???
